Intensity vs just vibing

Sometimes (especially when I’m near a promo I want) I find myself playing with full intensity. Like I’m trying to force a win to happen no matter what and play perfectly and 1v9. And I have occasionally been successful and made a win happen by myself like that against all odds. My mental stack is at max capacity and I’m looking everywhere on the map and trying to track everything.

Other times I’m just vibing and playing intuitively. Like “meh i think I’ll freeze now” or “meh looks like a good roam I’ll just Taliyah ult over there and send it and see what happens”.

When I’m vibing i feel like the games not even up to me. Ima just do my little part well as mid, keep tempo advantage, and if the team decides to win then cool. If they Throw then whatever that’s on them.

Lately I’ve been wondering if I even play better at full intensity or if just vibing is lowkey overpowered because you wait for the enemy mistakes more and you get less tilted, and force stuff less.

What do you guys think, do yall play better locked in or kind of relaxed and a little mindlessly following your own habits and subconscious learnings?

Is it worth learning Jungle to be better at mid?

For context I play on mobile around GM/challenger. That’s basically the equivalent of like diamond ish on PC.

I hit a point with my laning where about 99% of my deaths are to an enemy jg gank. I no longer lose lane 1v1 kind of…. Or better said, i understand my win con and how to out value my enemy laner at all stages of the game that i can.

I’ve tried writing down timers of when enemy ganks are likely and just auto backing off at those times. Ofc I know all the champs and whos likely to full clear and stuff.

The part that’s awkward for me is that now I’m tweaking out and hyper-scared of ganks (because I know my biggest flaw as a mid is enemy tracking) so I’m not taking guaranteed solo kills or good trades any time I don’t know where the enemy jg is. Feels like im leaving advantages on the table a lot now. like my laning is getting worse but it’s not it’s just smoothing over the variance and being less feast or famine tbh.

At this point im considering just playing Taliyah JG (and Sylas jg when he comes out) for a while and making my brain naturally jg track better by being the jungler myself. I’ve also always kind of seen mid lane as a 2v2 between the mids and junglers because I hug my jgs side so much and follow his plays.

Thoughts? Have any of yall got better at mid by maining JG for a while?

Edit: thanks guys, everyone seems in agreement! Kind of hype to start a new journey. Jg seems way more complex ha.
