Should I give improvement?

I scored 47 in mathematics, and I am CUET, and I want to pursue BSc Hons in Physics. I've searched around and found out that the minimum marks required are 55% for the general category. Is it true? Do I have to give an improvement exam, or will I get admission only based on CUET scores?
