Fixed throttle hesitation issue!!
Hey all! Just a quick update for ya, i posted here on sunday about a throttle hesitation issue that is fairly common on these bikes and got a lot of comments from people who are either currently dealing with the same problem, so i figured id post an update and show you all what fixed it!
So, we took the carburetor back off, stripped it back down and started checking the flow of the fuel delivery channels throughout, and found that the slow jet channel was a *little* clogged so, we cleaned that out with some break clean and took some thin wire to run through to try and scrape any gunk. We then inspected *everything,* pulled everything off to clean it out. Choke, fuel line to check the filter (clean) and then we removed the air mixture screw. We found what used to be an O-ring completely flattened and destroyed, which was likely causing a bit of a vacuum leak and making it virtually ineffective, so we replaced it. We put everything back together, got the tank back on, and started her, and let me tell you, she has never run better. We messed witb the idle a bit more (mixture screw now actually affecting the mix) and weve been out on a ride for the past 2 hours now! Currently eating dinner and were back on the road home to get her washed up.
So if youre dealing with the same throttle hesitation issue, please check all of your seals and channels, and i wish you all the best!!
TLDR; Air mixture screws O-ring was flattend and slow jet channel was a little clogged, start there but, your mileage may vary!
