The language used is subtle programming

The terms “lying opposers”, “negative reports”, and “false accusations” are all terms used when talking about opposition and persecution.

What I find extremely interesting is that none of these terms are directed at the Bible or the JW theology. They are directed at what whistleblowers, government investigators, survivors, and litigators are uncovering about the harmful policies and practices of the organization.

The 2026 convention on Saturday afternoon has, during the last two parts of the mega symposium, these terms sprinkled in the talks and video dramatizations.

I’ve heard several instances of these same terms being used by people in the congregation. It isn’t a mistake, it is subtle programming.

Unscriptural teachings of Jehovah’s Witnesses

What teachings of Jehovah’s Witnesses do you think clearly show they are not guided by the Bible?

I’m looking for specific doctrines, scriptures, or historical examples you believe are unscriptural, contradict Scripture, or rely on human interpretation instead of the biblical text.

Which examples stand out most, and why? Please share verses that directly support your point.

Observation: Laws vs. Principles

I’ve noticed a pattern recently that has been subtle but important to identify. JWs are being programmed to replace all references to “God’s Laws” such as those in the Hebrew Scriptures with “Principles” as if they are the same thing.

The Mosaic Law had over 600 individual laws and not principles. God said the Law would be observed “forever” and Jesus taught the Law should remain in effect until all is accomplished upon his return. Neither thing has or will happen.

Yet, especially with the consideration of the prophetic books lately, the concept of principles is being programmed into the minds.

They can then use “principles” to mean just about anything and, I suspect, will.

Ironic comment from the mid-week meeting

In the Gems part, a sister referenced Jeremiah 5:31 that says:

“The prophets prophesy lies, And the priests dominate by their own authority. And my own people love it that way. But what will you do when the end comes?”

Her comment was:

“It is hard to believe, but the people back then had the genuine prophecies from Jehovah right in front of them and chose instead to listen to the false prophets. Maybe what the false prophets said sounded better? Whatever the case, it reminds me to always listen to what Jehovah says through his organization so I don’t get fooled into believing lies.”

What an amazingly self unaware comment. Are not the GB and their predecessors false prophets?

In their own words, from the w72 4/1 p. 197:

“However, Jehovah did not let the people of Christendom, as led by the clergy, go without being warned that the League was a counterfeit substitute for the real kingdom of God. He had a “prophet” to warn them. This “prophet” was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah’s Christian witnesses. They are still proclaiming a warning, and have been joined and assisted in their commissioned work by hundreds of thousands of persons who have listened to their message with belief.

Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a “prophet” of God. It is another thing to prove it. The only way that this can be done is to review the record. What does it show?”

What does the record show indeed, how about a string of false prophecies and predictions!

Hypocrites.

Ridiculous comment from this weekend

During a study of the June 1-7, 2026 study article of the Watchtower, the conductor ask an auxiliary question for paragraph 6:

“Billions of people profess to be Christian and know Jesus’ name, so what makes us different?”

After about 10-15 seconds of crickets, one kid was fed the answer “1914” which was sad in itself. But, a sister followed up with:

“We are different because unlike everyone else in the world that follow human organizations run by humans, we follow the only organization run by Jesus himself. Worldly governments know this and that’s why they hate us.”

The only conclusion I draw is Jesus must be completely incompetent. Else, he would protect children, not care about property or money, not need a legal department, and not need to flip-flop on policy or direction.

As for the “they hate us” part, the word “hate” has been redefined to mean everything from family disagreeing with beliefs to governments not giving away free money. They have created a complex that is driven by fear and made so sensitive that any question, no matter how small, is met with resistance.

Interesting mid-week meeting comment of the week

From the CBS in the Learn From The Bible book, lesson 91, a sister commented:

“I’ve always wondered by Jesus disciples didn’t recognize him after he had been resurrected. I can only imagine they were so overcome with grief that they weren’t thinking straight. That and Jesus probably had a different body since his old one was tortured so badly. It’s wonderful to think that we won’t be grieving in the Paradise and we will be able to recognize people we love when they are resurrected.”

So, let me get this straight, the God that allegedly knows every detail about us could not resurrect Jesus with the same face that he died with? He was dead only three days and his closes companions either forgot what he looked like or didn’t recognize him on sight?

Smells fishy.

More plausible is that the “resurrected” Jesus was in reality an imposter since resurrection claims were very common in the first century.

Sad Watchtower comment of the week

From the May 25-31, 2026 study edition of the Watchtower, the last sentence of paragraph 7 says:

“Before we respond to a matter—such as when we have received Scriptural counsel that we do not agree with or theocratic direction that we do not understand—should we not pause to consider whether what we plan to say or do reflects pride or humility?”

A sister commented:

“After watching the recent Governing Body Update on blood, I was frustrated and angry. I called a good friend of mine from another congregation and she reminded me that this change is nothing new. I was so relieved! I thought I was developing a prideful attitude. That night, I begged Jehovah for forgiveness for not trusting his Faithful Slave.”

Why is this sad? Because the recent change is new. It is not a clarification. They are gaslighting themselves into believing it is.

Why Isaiah 65 is not about Paradise

How many times as JWs were we taught that Revelation 21:4 cannot be about life in heaven because in heaven, “death” doesn’t exist.

Apply that same reasoning to Isaiah 65:17-23 but instead of skipping over verse 20, read it in its entirety.

From the NWT:

“No more will there be an infant from that place who lives but a few days, Nor an old man who fails to live out his days. For anyone who dies at a hundred will be considered a mere boy, And the sinner will be cursed, even though he is a hundred years of age.”

Will there be death or sin in Paradise? Not according to JW.

How then is Isaiah 65 to be read? Not as cherry picked verses but as a restoration prophecy for Israel and Jerusalem without any reason to believe there is another fulfillment.

Sad Watchtower comment of the week

From the May 14-28, 2026 study edition of the Watchtower, an 11-year old boy commented:

“It is easy to waste time by playing video games. When I was over my friend’s house last week, I suggested for every hour we play video games, we spend an hour watching videos on JW Broadcast. We ended up spending the whole day watching videos instead of playing games and it was a lot more fun.”

The next generation of PIMI’s are already indoctrinated.

Edit: This was not an experience in the magazine, it was from a kid in the audience!

Stupid comment of the week

During the CBS, in Learn From The Bible (the kids book) lesson 85, a mega PIMI says:

“The Pharisees knew nothing about what the scriptures said. All they were concerned with was the traditions that they made up. It is like Jehovah’s people today, clergy of Christendom are completely ignorant of what the scriptures really teach. In fact, our children have more accurate knowledge than most who are in seminary. We can thank Jehovah and the Faithful Slave for that.”

Amazing. Do they even hear themselves?
