TL:DR - Want a single din pop up radio and gauges in the rest of the space, need advice.

Here’s my new to me 2002 IS300 with 75000 original miles.

The car is fully stock and I’m going to turbo it but for now I want to change my radio.

I want to keep the feel of the car but I want a CarPlay screen so I was thinking of buying one of those single din radios that have a screen that pops out of them and then putting gauges in the other single din sized space above it.

This means that the CarPlay screen will cover it when I’m driving chill but will go away for a race car feel.

Any suggestions as to how to go about this.

Has anyone done similar?
