Somnomancer - Dungeon Quest: The Official Soundtrack (2026)

Somnomancer - Dungeon Quest: The Official Soundtrack (2026)

My sophomore dungeon synth album, this time consisting of the music I made for my country's first ever Dungeon Synth event: Dungeon Quest!

The event was a live role-playing experience where I acted as Game Master for a crowd of people that worked together to decide the actions of one brave knight questing through the crypts of Gamosh in search of a Wizard's Orb, and these 11 tracks scored the moments, monsters and creatures they encountered!

Everyone was so supportive when I shared about the event earlier on this sub, so I've decided to make the album entirely free for anyone to download and enjoy! I unfortunately don't have any well-shot videos of the event to share, but I will be doing another one in November and will make sure to film it then!

This Saturday I'm hosting the first DS event in my country! (I think)

Wasn't sure whether to tag Event or Promo, but went with Self-Promo as I'm sure most of you can't make it to South Africa to join in but I'm still just excited to share!

I'm going to playing some live tracks from an album custom-made for the event, which is a group Role-Playing experience (running Jared A. Sorensen Parsley game system) that sees a humble knight questing into the crypts of Gamosh, a fearsome lich, in pursuit of retrieving the Grand Wizard's lost orb! The audience will be working together to decide the character's actions and help each other solve puzzles, battle monsters (through high-stakes games of rock-paper-scissors) and find treasure.

I'm super stoked to get the opportunity to do something like this, and would love to share more about it if people want me to/if it's allowed in sub rules. I'll be releasing recorded versions of the music I use at the event as an album this weekend.

All design by me. Slides 2 & 3 are j-card designs for the cassettes I'll be selling at the event, which include a map of the dungeon on the inside :)

Somnomancer - A Tale from the Sunset Coast (+20 codes!)

My debut album: a 16-track adventure score for one of my favourite D&D campaigns! Listen in to hear a tale of goblins, secret temples, criminal underworlds, and a sleepy seaside town turned to darkness. I really enjoy all the different subgenres and styles found in this community so I tried my best to draw inspiration from them for a wide variety of sounds and tracks, I'd love to knw if you end up with a favourite.

Thanks to Leden Mare for the border designs used! Artwork and all other design by me :)

Recommendations for places to promote/find music outside of this sub?

I really love the community here but would like to make sure there's not other facets of this music scene that I'm missing. Do you guys have any recs for blogs, sites, YouTube channels or other social media that has some DS pockets and how I can join them?

What's your Dungeon Synth equipment right now?

I really love the different flavours and styles of DS that this sub produces, so I'd be super interested to hear about what people are using right now to make their sounds!

Not just limited to artists though, I'd also like to hear about how people like to listen to their Dungeon Synth; where you find it suits best, what medium, etc.

Right now, I've been making my album just on a MicroKORG and a Roland digital 8-track, and I typically listen through some bootleg cassettes I've made on my Walkman as I cycle to and from work :)

Looking for any South African dungeoneers!

Hello everyone!
I am looking to get a bit of a scene or something close to it going in South Africa (I'm based in Cape Town), and wanted to know if any on this sub are from around these parts?
Also, if you know of any artists who are South African (I've searched through Bandcamp as far as I can but I may have missed some), let me know!
I just want to try and know more local people in the genre.
