Advice for my mum - lymphoedema in warm weather

Hi folks,

My mum has lymphoedema in her right leg as a result of having her lymph nodes removed for cancer treatment. It’s currently super warm in the UK at the moment with night time temperatures up around 20°C (which is warm for us). Her leg has swollen up massively and she has it elevated but after a night like this it doesn’t seem to be going down any.

She’s kinda playing it down but I’m actually quite worried about her and think she should maybe contact an out of hours GP.

I’d love to hear from you if this is a standard thing you deal with or if there’s any genuine concerns I should have and if she needs to be checked out.

Does this look ok?

After wanting it for months I took the plunge and got my eyebrow pierced this afternoon. I "think" I'm happy with it but I live alone and have no-one to bounce these things off so I wanted to ask for your opinions - do I suit this or did I make a mistake?

Issues with my first Esterbrook

I splurged on the Esterbook Estie Rockstar edition because it's the most beautiful pen I've ever seen. It arrived today and unfortunately it is skipping/hard starting for me.

I tried to clean it out with warm water that had a little bit of dish soap in it. I tried re inking it with Diamine Amazing Amethyst because I wondered if the sparkly ink that came with the pen was clogging it.

Before I contact Cult Pens and ask them for a replacement, can anyone confirm if there's something obvious I'm doing wrong? I'm a fountain pen newbie so it's very possible this is user error.
