What do you guys wish to see more of in Regency stories? What are you tired of?

Honestly I'm just dipping my toes into Regency stuff because I used to be a big fan of Victorian stuff. But I kind of wish there were more thrillers or horror set in this time period! Because like, weren't the Napoleonic wars happening? Imagine a Midsommar but Regency! I know murder mysteries are popular, but it doesn't quite scratch my itch.

How about you guys? Is there anything you want more of? Less of? I would love to hear your thoughts! (Especially when it comes to what happens in books).

is it a good idea to set gofundmes for people moving out of red states?

I'm from Idaho, but haven't personally been affected by the recent bathroom law (it would be in effect starting July, but school bathrooms already had a lot of restrictions.) I think it's mostly because I kept myself at home or at school and rarely went around outside long enough to need the restroom. But that's kind of beside the point.

I see GoFundMes from stuff like surgery, so I thought maybe I could set one up for moving. I plan on going to Portland and would like to save around 5-10k. I just feel like it would be a bad idea though. As I said, I haven't been personally discriminated (yet), maybe I could easily make money over the summer because I live with my parents, there's other people that deserve the money more than I do. Besides, all kinds of people move out of state, and they never beg for money. We're in a recession too. No point in setting something up when all of us are struggling.

I'm just scared I'm going to be stuck here forever or that I would never have enough hours to work. I just want to toss out this idea to people that aren't my family members. Thoughts? I've also considered maybe I could have tiers with rewards--like Patreon--but my writing and artistic skills aren't good enough to monetize.
