By this I mean the ones from the mainline games like Charmander, froakie, Turtwig. In a game where you don't get to evolve until you beat the story, every grass starter plays the same, every fire starter plays the same, every water starter plays the same. Just one set would be enough but there's so many of them they always end up taking like 80% of the options leaving very little actual variety of pokémon to choose from, and it only gets worse the deeper you go into the PMD series.

If this series isn't forever dead and one day comes back, I hope they do away with the idea that every generation of starters needs to be represented and let us have actually different options.
