New Installation: Exterior Entry Finishing
I had an installation yesterday. The trenching crew who arrived the day before (side note: there was no mention when I scheduled that trenching would occur a day earlier) told me that the install tech would need to drill through the wall of the second-story room where I keep my modem and router, but would seal the exterior entry "with a plug".
I noticed after the tech left that the exterior work looks more like an unfinished borehole.
How are these holes normally sealed? is there typically a form-fitting stopper? Is it freehand with caulk?
It's going to rain tomorrow and the day after, so I'm running very short on time to get it corrected and/or get up there on a ladder with a tube of caulk myself.
EDIT: To clarify, the light colored bits around the hole appear to be drill swarf from the siding being pushed out, not silicone.
