Feri Cuisine (Queen's Court, 18/368 Queen Street, Auckland CBD)

Finally got round to trying Feri Cuisine (Persian). Went for one of the special (NZ$18) options which was still generous & delicious: One skewer of koobideh kebab (lamb) with grilled tomato, rice, hummus, salad.

Kreem Bake Cook (Universal Drive, Henderson)

Kreem Big Breakfast (NZ$27): Scrambled eggs, smoked pork sausages, crispy bacon, creamy mushrooms, golden potato koftas, grilled tomato, and homemade toast. That was pretty good, the sausage was basically a breakfast Kransky & the toast was made with brioche bread.

The space is big & even though they were about half-full, the kitchen looked slammed. My food took over half an hour to arrive. If you order cabinet food (which they had a good-looking selection of), it comes much more quickly. The service was pretty average, there wasn't enough cutlery at my table & I ended up having to fetch it myself.

Selera Delight (Newmarket)

Selera Delight (Newmarket). Been ages since I ate at the original Selera bottom of Khyber Pass which is no more but this is still going & with the same menu. The lobak roll (5-spice pork crispy skin roll) ($16) was as good as I remember. The plain curry laksa ($22) was decent, though was a sweeter style of curry, more Thai than Malaysian. Was it always like this?
