What exactly is the difference between the Is-Not of Parabola and the Is-Not of Apocrypha? I'm having a spectacular time with Firmament thus far (about halfway through part 4) and a meeting with Summer has put me thinking on this.

My initial interpretation, from Hallow's Throat, was that Cthonosophy centers around what Once-Was or Could-Have-Been, but you can encounter both of those in Parabola via the Waswood. Similarly, it's not as though Glasswork is unable to affect the real world- the parlor trick in Helicon House springs to mind. Is it that Parabola always reflects an interpretation of what Is, while Apocrypha need not have any such grounding in reality?

I'm really enjoying settling into this pattern of sealing these breaches, but as a Silverer who takes RP seriously, I'm still figuring out how to square all this.

Hi! I'm a returning player (took a long break after the conclusion of Evolution, kicking myself for barely missing the Horticultural Show and getting back in right after Whitsun ended) and am stoked to start exploring the Roof and find out what a "Stuiver" is.

The only problem is... I've been putting it off for a full month now. My Airship is fully built and sitting in port, but I've been so busy noodling at other things that I haven't gotten around to it. "Oh, Agents are a thing now? I guess I better collect the resources to hire as many as I can!" "Oh, I never actually reached the endpoint of Khaganian Intrigue, let's do that!" "Oh, you can actually visit the Tracklayers' City now, I gotta do that storyline." "Oh, I shot up to 7 notability while I wasn't looking, why not go all the way to 12 and grab London's Blood just in case?" "Oh, Hearts' Game gives a KT weapon, I should swing by and do that." "Oh, the Waswood is holding the Sixth Coil this week, pause everything!" "Oh, I never made a church garden at Burrow-Infra-Mump"... You get the idea.

I've no doubt that the Roof brings great opportunities for profit, and I've been told that Firmament's story is a bit slipperier than usual, so the question I pose to you all is this: Do you consider it wiser to tie up as much outstanding business as possible in familiar territory first, or to jump on Firmament before the dream of burning books and my first meeting with the Last Duchess fades too much from memory?

(Follow up question: Is there any less-than-obvious new content released since summer of '23? I'm quite fond of the Candlefinder story I've done, for instance.)
