Setting Powder Showdown (Reviews)
Since I've tried all three of these, I decided to make a review post consisting of my thoughts. My skin is combo, with a very oily T-zone.
Marie Claire Pressed setting powder: This powder is translucent, it's the only type I saw from this brand. I like this one, as it kept my skin matte for several hours. I noticed a little shine after about five hours after applying. It has a light perfume scent. I prefer wearing this powder alone rather than over foundation and concealer, it showed off some texture when I did apply it over foundation. It's great for the days I don't want to look like I just finished a gym workout. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Kokie Flawless Seal HD setting powder: I've heard positive remarks about this powder from several users on this subreddit and decided to give it a go. I don't know if I got a dud in a bad batch or what, but this left a horrible white cast on me. I am fair skinned and only used a small amount over my foundation. Also please be warned this stuff flies EVERYWHERE if you aren't careful. It is VERY finely milled. This one is a no for me. ⭐️
Prolux Matte setting powder: I have heard mixed opinions on this. I bought this because I also have the Prolux matte foundation in my perfect shade match and love it! Let's just say I was not disappointed in the least! They had several shades in the Prolux loose powder, including a translucent one. I picked the "Porcelain" shade. I use the "Vanilla" in the foundation line and it's a perfect match! I also want to point out it comes with a very soft ribboned puff too, which I appreciate as I prefer puffs over brushes for applying loose powder. This stuff kept a full face of makeup on me looking matte without patchyness on a 4hr long motorcycle ride in 100° weather and high humidity. You bet I was sweating too. 😂 I noticed a tad bit of shine on my nose after returning home but I've got to say, that's pretty impressive for someone who perspires as much as I do. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
