How to cold email/validate your idea I will not promote

I make it clear that I'm not charging them anything and I just want their advice on a product I'm building but it seems like they don't care at all. Especially since theoretically my product would save them money. Obviously leads/talking to customers is hard but do you have any advice since I'm a solo founder and more on the technical side?

Pear VC meeting will not self promote

I had meetings with a few VC firms last few days, notably Pear. We're pre seed and first time founders.

First off it seems like pearx accelerator only has 2 meetings - at least that's what they told us. From what I've gathered, during our meeting we talked almost exclusively about ourselves as founders and they were trying to gauge our ability rather than the idea itself. I know that's pretty obvious since they're accelerators but I didn't expect it to be that focused

My and my co-founder are waterloo students and I have a lot of experience building/working at startups (founding eng not founder), winning hackathons, and building projects. We also did research into the person we were meeting and talked to them about a different project that they funded. My advice is to really focus on proving why you're a good founder > why your idea is good - at least first meeting. Also build up your reputation, be ready to prove you're "high agency", build up your nework. We actually talked about a guy I met at a networking event a few months ago and another guy I did a hackathon with in the past. I'm not sure if they'll talk me up but either way it builds trust.

If you have any questions or you can give me advice just dm me

PearX interview I will not promote

I was wondering if anyone has had a a pearx interview in the past and what the process was like? We have our first stage this friday so I was curious. This is our first interview as first time founders and we're in pre-seed phase. It's only 10 minutes and would appreciate any feedback from someone who had an interview in the past.

Composer not giving me enough time to doomscroll

It might be good and fast but not letting me focus on the important things. It is insane how fast and token conservative the model has become

Recently created a tool where you can turn any site into a figma type design and have your changes persist

I do a lot of hackathons and work at startups. If a task gets assigned or I have to build something instead of switching between AI tools, design tools like figma, or spend time doing it myself I would like to test out changes and quickly see if I like them. That's why I created on the fly where you can turn any site into a sandbox environment and make changes on the fly. It's a chrome extension build with a lot of typescript and I'm using gpt 5.1 for my agent but since it's open sourced you can connect whichever model.

Looking for a hungry and talented team

6 time hackathon winner, university of waterloo student, startup experience (founding ENG on team that raised), and getting more into AI agents, est timezone. Looking for people that:

  1. have good communication - don't want to wait 10+ hours for responses, especially on hackathon days
  2. Ideally the hackathons are 1-3 days, don't mind longer but month long are drags.
  3. Experience with hackathons, can build quick, and we can improve together, programming experience too
  4. want to grind them out for the next few months
  5. Want to win but also create real good ideas that can transition into real startups/get funding not create some ai slop b2b
  6. I want to do IRL hackathons too - Toronto works best for me, I'm good with virtual too but they have to allow Canadians + we work mostly in est hours (not trynna work at 4am everytime)

Recently did green hackathon and built 30 seconds

We did a case study on NYC:

NYC mayor Zohran Mamdani ran on many different promises - however one of the most interesting was his desire to improve response times to citizen concerns and create faster channels. He created the Office of Mass Engagement in order to “lead mass engagement campaigns that organize New Yorkers to participate in City decision-making; Create and maintain accessible, inspiring channels and events for residents to share feedback with government.”

Creating fast channels is extremely important and the idea behind the project is that in just 30 seconds users can submit reports about issues in their city. Not only are we streamlining it from the user side but also the operator by reducing friction and making the flow as quick as possible.

How likely is a short squeeze

We all know this stock has been massively manipulated and undervalued. Stock has fluctuated between $4-$7 last 12 months but the growth and valuation doesn't make any sense anymore. I wonder what it would take for a short squeeze to finally happen. maybe someone fullporting on wsb lmao
