Frost Bay Flow Fix
This is for folks that may have had Frost Bay liquid cooling flow issues, where the unit may shut off unexpectedly, causing the computer to drop the TDP. This can also be caused by Bluetooth disconnection, see my other post about that. If it’s flow, you will see the Frost Bay connected in OneXConsole but the Current Water Flow: 0mL/min, despite the Pump Speed percentage not at zero. If it’s the BT, the OneXConsole will show the Frost Bay disconnected. Ok, on to what I did to fix it. The cover of the Frost Bay is the side with the power button on it, and it is held on by magnets so it can be removed without tools. CAREFULLY, pry this off starting at the top while keeping the bottom close to the body (see last image). There is a ribbon cable connecting the power button to the cover that you don’t want to damage. Once you have it off, set it on the back side and slide the cover over so you can access the pump without straining the power button cable. Here you can see that the inlet tube from the quick disconnect can get pinched by the pump. Just using your fingers to pinch this tube in the opposite direction back into shape often fixes the problem. If that works, do you don’t need to do anything else. If you want to give it a bit of extra support, you can wind a spring on to it like in the photos above and slide the spring down to relieve the pressure on the part of the tube that turns the corner. This brought my flow rate at 100% pump speed up from 150mL/min to 170mL/min. This is with the 2m long hoses, so with the shorter stock hoses, you should get better flow than that.
