OneXPlayer Apex (8000 MT/s) 48GB vs X2 Mini Pro (7467 MT/s)48GB

Quick question about LPDDR5X speeds on handhelds sharing the same hardware (specifically looking at the 48GB versions, since the 64 version which costs 300 euros more does not suffer from this).

The Apex runs its RAM at 8000 MT/s, but the X2 Mini Pro caps it at 7467 MT/s. This happens even though the X2 Mini Pro is slightly larger (0.8" bigger screen) and theoretically has more room on the PCB.

Since the CPU/architecture is basically identical, what's the real reason behind this?

Is it just shady marketing/market segmentation?

Or is it a physical limitation, like bad PCB trace routing and signal integrity on the X2?

Since the CPU/SoC is basically the same, do you think it will be possible to force it to 8000 MT/s via BIOS?

Have limited options, X1 Pro 470 vs Apex 395 Standard

Hi

So my GPD Win Mini 2025 crapped out. I am looking for a replacement and unfortunately the local stores have more or less have abandoned handheld PCs that are not Steam. Like all stores have stopped stocking and seem to be trying to get rid of them. I also don't want to do IGG again as I got screwed over by GPD and got almost into trouble because they lied about the price.

The only options available are the X1 Pro 470 32GB and the Apex 395 48GB. The prices are very close at like $1750 (Apex) vs $1833 (X1 Pro). Those prices are inclusive of everything. I am leaning towards the Apex because of the detachable battery (fears about battery crapping out), better controller and better store warranty.

Which is the better item in your opinion? I just plan to play this on a bench or car. This would not be the main device for playing.

Although if I didn't mind the downgrade, I could go for an Ally X Xbox, as an alternative but from online sellers in next door countries (Alternatively MSI Claw A8 is there too but nothing else). My fear with OneXPlayer is that the controls are pretty bad. I had the original OneXPlayer and the DPAD was so bad.

Thank you

edit:

Would you also agree that the prices seem to be them trying to get rid of them?

edit 2:

Will probably lean towards Apex.

OneXPlayer Apex vs Claw 8 EX AI+, coming from a Legion Go 2

Currently on a Legion Go 2 (Z2E) and trying to decide between the OneXFly Apex and the MSI Claw 8 EX AI+. Main games are Spider-Man Remastered, trying to get a clean 120fps at low settings, and Forza Horizon 6 at medium. I get some stutter on the Legion Go 2 even at low settings in Spider-Man, not sure if that’s a power thing or just how the game runs no matter what hardware you use, so curious if either of these actually fixes it.

Wondering about performance at 17w as that seems to be a big improvement point of the Claw EX vs Z2E.

I’m mostly playing in hotel rooms and my living room, so charging setup matters more to me than max battery life unplugged. I’ve read the Apex uses a proprietary 240W GaN barrel charger instead of real USB-C PD, so if anyone’s tried a USB-C path for it, even at lower wattage, let me know if that actually works. Also curious how mature the Claw 8 EX AI+ drivers are right now since it’s brand new silicon, and I’ve seen some reviews mention rough edges with multi-frame-gen and endurance modes.

If anyone’s used both, or switched from a Legion Go 2, would love to hear how it went.

It Lives!

One day my X1 AMD wouldn't turn on, tried a couple of times and it just didn't turn on. Months later, I was just going to put this away for good, I decided to try turning it on again. And to my surprise, it turned on. Glad I didnt give up on this just yet. Its a 2 year old device and I won't buy the new OX3 just yet. Saved me some money!

OXP3 Pledge - Does It Include The Keyboard

Kinda confused, does the most popular Indiegogo pledge (the one costing 13,320.00) with the most pledges, does it come with the keyboard ? It shows 4 included bonus items like the bag, backpack, film, but nowhere does it mention keyboard.

But all the preview videos seem to imply its included ? Does anyone know for sure ?

Thinking of buying the OX3

And had questions regarding software and updates. I have the LG2 and actually am disappointed in Lenovo’s updates on the unit. They have had one update? Is OXplayer good about updating their product? Is the software comparable to Lenovo?

Lastly, will XBOX EXPERIENCE work on it okay? Thanks yall.

Indiegogo OXP3 Pledge - Best Payment Option?

So I'm based in the US, and thinking about doing the OXP3 pledge on Indiegogo.

What's the best payment option - Direct Credit Card or Google Pay via Credit Card ?

I'm 100% aware there's going to be a 9% cancellation fee regardless, but thinking long term like if anything happens and we need to file a claim/etc.

What's the consensus best option around here ? Or is there zero difference ?

Can't Decide Between the X2 Mini & OneXPlayer 3...

Trying to weigh the pros and cons between the two. I'm coming from a Legion Go 2 and this is my first OneXPlayer handheld. I would either get the most expensive OneXPlayer 3 or or the cheapest X2 Mini. My biggest sticking point with the x2 mini is the slower ram, higher heat?, and fan noise when playing at 55w. Also the lack of 395, making it less ideal for productivity/desk setup.

I'm fine with playing plugged in most of the time, as I'm usually either playing at my desk, in bed, or at my office desk (though that cable does seem chunky). I would also be fine with the battery tether of the x2 mini but doubt I'd use it much with the battery attached directly. Not even sure if I'd use the tether much with how fast the battery would die.

While I'd love the higher performance of the X2 Mini, I'm fine waiting for AMD Medusa chip in a year and a half or so... but who knows how much that'll be by then with the way everything is these days. OneXPlayer 3 is about $600 cheaper after adding the missing accessories but substantially less performance... XESS & frame gen looks solid though. I don't have to have top tier performance, as I have a 5090 at home.

What are you going with?

The ads for the onexplayer 3 just smell scammy

I backed the onexplayer 3, and I'm going to see it through. But all the "reviews" for the device I'm seeing on youtube just don't smell right.

Every time I see a reviewer, it just seems like they are paid by onex, they are lying about everything they say, and they've never played a video game before.

There are some that seem more reputable, but even they... I just feel really suspicious about it all!

Is it just me?! Anybody feeling this?

OnexPlayer support

Very interested in the onexplayer 3 as for the specs its a great price, only thing stopping me from fully comitting to backing on indiegogo is i hear that onexp support isn't the best or responsive and if you need something fixed it'd cost a lot just to get it shipped back to china from the US and then wait for them to fix it. Is onexp support actually that bad?

Onexplayer 3 cost

For those who have pre-ordered the Onexplayer 3 base model... what was the total cost after taxes? I think I seen a 1430$ price from one user but idk if thats true. Seems low for tax (to u.s.)

OneXPlayer 3 or Claw 8 EX ai+

wondering what the consensus is on these devices, specifically because MSI has better product support if something goes wrong. but the OneXPlayer is a much better price for better screen.

Finally solved the "issue" of the controllers on the OneXplayer X1 / X2 series

Since I've bought the **X1 Pro with the HX370** I thought the same thing every single time I've used it while traveling... What a **bad quality build** for the controllers!

I've tried to solve partially the issue with a **grip from Talongames**, that actually makes the feeling to the touch better, but even like this, same issue for all the rest of the components.

The original controllers have a really **bad vibration engines**, that even at the minimum force settings it vibrate too much and sounds really bad and also feel like a 10€/$ controller.

It has also a **bad D-Pad feeling**, because unfortunately even if I like clicky buttons, this D-Pad really **sounds like a creaking door** sometimes while pressing more than one direction at the same time.

I've also never understood why on BazziteOS even if you press the button that is supposed to act like a steam/Xbox button, doesn't go actually to home settings options, while on the new controller it works perfectly.

The **most annoying thing** for me was the **unstable connection**, even if it's a direct connection with pins was **disconnecting randomly** while moving the computer around, and every single time the solution was to remove and reattach the controllers. Also,**the connection itself wasn't feeling stable**, and I've never fully trusted it at the point that I've never took the computer directly from only one of the two controller, since **it was slightly moving** and giving me the sensation that the total weight was too much to sustain it.

Unfortunately my girlfriend the other day **dropped the controller** while using it wirelessly with her computer and the right controller **broke the plastic connector**, showing me that it wasn't stable enough to hold the computer itself.

**The solution?** I've bought a **BSP D8 Pro**.

I know that **it exists the BSP D9, D10 and D11 too**, but the D9 shape is a bad copy of the PlayStation controller, and apparently the D10 has a lower build quality (but a more comfortable shape) and the D11 is a downgrade compared to the D10, so i went with the classic BSP D8 Pro.

**Why the BSP D8 Pro?** I have to admit that my first idea was a **Gamesir G8+**, but apparently without a mod (that you have to buy separately or print yourself with a 3D printer) doesn't work on big devices. Since BSP is the only brand that makes **hall effect** controller with some interesting functions, that are at the same time compatible with huge devices, I had to try one.

**Am I satisfied? YES.**

Is the **best build quality controller** that I could buy? No, definitely not, but honestly it's well built and has some interesting specs that it's hard to find at this price range.

Talking about the actual **BSP D8 Pro compared to the original OneXplayer controllers**, almost all the specs are **far better**. **Better vibration engines**, with finally a decent feeling, still far away from a **PlayStation 5** or **Nintendo Switch 2** haptic feedback precision and feeling, but for sure better than before. **Better D-Pad feeling**, with micro switches buttons, but **without the annoying creaking noise** of the OneXplayer ones. The precision of the joystick is incredible, with **0 drift** at all and also **0 dead zone at the center**, because they are **good quality hall effect** (also because they are brand new). The connection with the body of the computer is perfect, **it doesn't cover the cooling fan** and **doesn't even cover the speakers on the sides**, almost looks like it's made on purpose for this device! Not only match perfectly, but also **it feel more safe and stable than the original one**, with the back structure that actually connect the two controllers on the side and the computer. But for me the most impressive function is the fact that it has internal battery and it can be used **wirelessly with Bluetooth**, that is a thing that with the original controllers you cannot do! Of course the original controllers also have a "connector" that allows you to use it wirelessly, but only with a USB-A 2.4GHz wireless stick connected to the actual device, and the battery last nothing!

**Conclusion:** it's just a recommendation, but if you want a better quality controller than the original ones, that can be used also with other devices, that doesn't cost too much, go and buy yourself a BSP D8 Pro without thinking about it too much.

(P.S. this is not a sponsor, since I paid with my own money the controller on AliExpress and nobody asked me to do this post.)
