The problem with Crowbcat

I made a previous post attacking the Resident Evil 4 Remake after watching Crowbcat's video, but I honestly regret it. I had never even heard of Crowbcat until last month. The first time I watched Crowbcat's video, I was on his side, but not anymore. He started an entire internet war for the sake of his own ego.

First of all, you can change to the original soundtrack at any given moment. I only play with the original soundtrack.

Second of all, if Crowbcat failed to play the game with the Japanese VA. Not only is the Japanese VA better, but they left the campy lines such as "gamu aru" which translates to "got gum." Luis makes a comment about Ashley's cleavage in the remake which Ashley responds "How rude. And what does that have to do with anything? Who are you?"

Ashley also asks Leon on a date at the end of the game. Ashley asks him for a "post mission task" which Leon declines. Ashley responds with "Somehow I knew you'd say that."

I am a native Japanese speaker so it's easier for me to love the game while playing in Japanese without the English subtitles, and while I understand that most Americans don't speak Japanese, Crowbcat is a content creator. He should have researched this.

As far as the gameplay goes, it's perfectly fine. Some people just complained about it because they didn't understand the new gameplay mechanics. While the original gameplay revolutionized the gaming industry, modern gaming has evolved. Crowbcat complained about the parrying. It is standard for all 3rd person games to have parrying in this day in age. While the original gameplay still holds up, it still needed a few tweaks such as parrying, stealth and aim assist.

I'm not sure why the yellow paint was so controversial. I noticed it, but I never complained about it. If it bothers you, please explain why.

I'm nostalgic for the original as well. That's why I will never play with the English VA again. Lily Gao made up her own drama. Nobody said anything racist or sexist about her. She misinterpreted the character. I used to defend her but not after reading what she wrote. If you still like Lily Gao's voice acting, that's perfectly fine. People are allowed to have different opinions even if the majority disagrees.

I love both versions of Ashley. The original Ashley represents real life trauma of a college girl who was locked up by a scary looking guy named Krauser and she is locked in a cell for days with no food or air by a religious cult group. The poor girl has PTSD. The remake Ashley is slightly stronger, not by much. They both do the exact same things. They yell for help, but they also help Leon throughout the game, and no, I don't miss being able to look up her skirt. Why? Because if I really want to look up her skirt and call me a "pervert," all I have to do is play the original, and the same goes for all missing features.

It's okay to love both versions in different ways. I went from loving the remake, to hating it, back to loving it. Remakes are not designed to replace the originals. They are designed as reimaginings and nostalgia. Crowbcat is letting nostalgia blind him from embracing new things and trying to brainwash everyone into thinking like him. If Crowbcat truly loves the original, why doesn't he have more videos of him talking about Resident Evil? I don't respect people who use Resident Evil or any other game for clout because that's exactly what he's doing.

I finally unlocked the hand cannon!

It was a week and a half long battle on my switch lite. Getting 5 stars was every character in mercenaries was easy with the exception of Leon. He may be the main character of the game, but he is the worst in mercenaries, specifically in the 2nd and 4th stage. He is really bad against Super Salvador. I had to rely on the shotgun and get perfect headshots. I almost rage quit the challenge, but I finally did it.

As for the hand cannon itself. It's a really powerful weapon. The aim is poor against long distant enemies, but it's great for killing enemies with one shot or blowing their heads straight off. All I needed was one shot at El Gigante's head and one shot at the parasite. The infinite rocket launcher is still better since you only need one shot, but it's still a unique weapon. I would say that the hand cannon and the chicago typewriter are the best against non-boss enemies as you risk blowing yourself up with the infinite rocket launcher in close encounters.

Is the PRL 412 worth it or a waste of time?

I grew up with the GameCube version of Resident Evil 4 so I didn't even know this weapon existed. I am currently playing the Switch version on professional mode which is broken. I can't beat Salazar's statue because the game runs at 60FPS. I'm also playing on the Switch Lite so I'm afraid I might break it. The Switch version works and looks perfectly fine on normal mode, but professional mode feels impossible.

I've heard people say that the PRL 412 is a waste of time and that it's boring. Should I keep grinding and buy a turbo controller or just give it up? I already have the infinite rocket launcher and the chicago typewriter so I'm pretty much satisfied. Most fans I know didn't even play professional mode. At least not the GameCube version since there's no reward.

Should I keep going or simply ignore it? Is it even fun to use?
