ANSC355 ANSC320

Has anyone taken either of these courses? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.

I haven’t been able to find much information about ANSC 355—no syllabus, and pretty much nothing online.

I did find the syllabus for ANSC 320, and it says the exams are online. Does that make the course relatively easy?

If you’ve taken either course, I’d really appreciate it if you could share your thoughts. Thanks so much!

GPA for graduate admissions

Does anyone know how the University of Saskatchewan percentage grades are evaluated by U.S. graduate schools?

I’m planning to apply for a master’s degree in the U.S., and my current average is 92.9%. I’m trying to keep my GPA as high as possible, but I don’t know how U.S. schools interpret our grading system.

For example, if 96% is effectively considered a 4.0, then I probably won’t be able to reach that anyway. But if something like 93% is already viewed as the top range, I might not push myself quite so hard.

Has anyone from USask applied to graduate school in the U.S. and knows how this is usually evaluated?

Animal science, need help

I’m in Animal Science. During my first year, I completed a total of 15 courses by taking classes during the spring and summer terms as well. I’m about to start second year, and my current plan is to take 5 courses in the fall term, 5 in the winter term, and another 2 electives during the summer. Based on my current schedule, I should only have 14 courses left before entering third year.

However, most of those remaining 14 courses do not have online options, and almost all of them include labs. Even though it looks like I’ll be taking fewer courses each semester, I feel like the overall workload may actually become heavier.

For example, right now I’m considering taking ANSC 315, ANSC 316, VBMS 324, and ANBI 360 in my first semester of third year. I feel like taking these together could be pretty intense.

So I wanted to ask students in third or fourth year: are these courses difficult? If you take around 4 professional/lab-based courses like these in one semester, how is the workload overall? Does it feel very stressful or hard to manage?
