I (21f) am a student at App State. I am also a lesbian, but one with absolutely no experience (or game lol). I'm relatively introverted, so I struggle to meet queer women in the Boone vicinity.
Do any of you guys have advice on the best way to meet queer women (even better if they're masc/butch)?
I need a way to start getting out there to meet people.
so i (21f) am a lesbian college student who genuinely has never been with anyone (including going on a date, kissing, etc). I am out to all of my friends, but pretty much none of my family.
I also have a lot of mental health issues that affect my confidence and ability to socialize. My issues are relatively under control/medicated, and I really want to meet women. I am going into my senior year of college (math major lol), and I go to a large university, but in a pretty small mountain town. I have tried Hinge, Tinder, Bumble, and Her, with absolutely no luck.
I have friends, but I also have an extremely difficult time putting myself out there, even when it doesn't come to dating. For example, at the peak of my anxiety, I was almost selectively mute due to how stressed I was being in public and being perceived (this isn't a thing anymore lol).
I guess I want some advice on how to meet people. Given what I am studying, I am very much a minority in my classes/department. I am relatively social, as much as I can be, but I'm to the point where I just want to meet someone, even if it is casual.
So I (21) came out to my friends August 2025, (on accident lol but that's another story). I've passively had a crush on one girl since I was a freshman in college (now going into my senior year). I kinda ignored it for awhile because she was in a relationship on and off from like 2024 until a few months ago. We know each other through mutual friends. Since May-ish, we have kind of been sending tiktoks back and forth, primarily because shes the only other lesbian I know that I have on tiktok, and we were sending tiktoks about lesbian visibility week lol.
Another important factor is that I have never dated anyone. I have been on the apps, mainly Hinge and Tinder, since like September 2025, both uneventful. Because I am so inexperienced, I don't really know how to read the signals.
She has complimented my outfit before, gave me an awkward side hug in the dining hall, invited me to talk to her while she was on duty, and just sending kind of mixed signals. One thing that really is mixed, is that a good chunk of signals were sent while she was still with her gf, and she strikes me as the loyal/golden retriever type lol.
Please help i dont know how to read these signals and have no clue of what i should do😭. Also, maybe tmi, but this could all just be bogus because im ovulating lol
