What do you think? Another update on my continent map [WIP]

Hi, I’m back with another version of my continent map. I added more rivers and mountains, changed the map theme, and the colors got a bit messed up, but after a few adjustments I still think they look good. So, what do you think?

Thanks for all the comments.

How do I design a target web for a political/spy RPG campaign without forcing stealth?

Hi everyone.

I want to run a spy/political campaign for my players, something in the style of Dishonored. I’d like to create a network of targets that the players would need to eliminate, either by killing them or through some other non-lethal method.

I’m just wondering how to design such a target map in a sensible way — the kind you often see in gangster movies, during scenes with the police and their investigation board. I’d like some targets to be unknown from the very beginning.

I also have a problem when thinking about how to run this kind of campaign, because I’m afraid I’ll end up designing everything in a way that forces the players to constantly sneak around, which I don’t want.

Do you have any advice, articles or videos about something similar, or things I should pay attention to while preparing?

Thanks in advance for all comments and replies.

Dishonored-style campaign - need an advice

[WIP] Need advice and help

Hello there again, I played around with the rivers, forests, mountains, and lakes, and somehow the map came together.

I need help again with a few things.

  1. Do you have any ideas for how I could fill the empty space on the main continent on the left? I don’t really want to add huge stretches of forest or mountains there again. I also feel like the borders look a bit strange in some places.
  2. What do you think about the colors? Should I have worked on them more? I mean whether I used colors that are too bright, or whether the transitions between them are too subtle.
  3. I’d like to experiment with using the Label Tool to name the cities, but I feel like the city names blend in too much with the country names. Do you have any way to deal with that?

Thank you for any tips and comments!

[WIP] Update on making my first big map.

Hi again. I took the suggestion into account and added a few archipelagos, and I also made the left peninsula smaller. I’ve now moved on to placing symbols, mountains, and forests, and I’m fairly happy with how they look. I also added colors.

The problem starts with rivers and lakes. Every time I try to implement them, I feel like I’m committing crimes against the entire field of cartography, haha. Do you have any advice on how to handle this? Especially with placing lakes and determining the course of rivers? Also, any advice on colors would be helpful, because I feel like the freshwater color I set looks awful.

Thanks in advance for all the comments!

[WIP] My first big map, just a draft for now.

For now it's still just a draft but I wanted to get some opinions from more experienced. I took some liberties and was inspired from many diffrent maps I saw.

For context, this is a map of the continent where my friend’s RPG campaign takes place. On the peninsula to the left is the Commonwealth of Havestberg — an alliance of dwarves and elves, as well as other racial minorities. To the south lies the isolationist state known as the Penitential Regency of Reman, while the Empire covers a large part of the remaining territory.

But getting back to the point, I’d like to hear your opinions and maybe some suggestions on what could be improved. I feel that the sea area and the coastlines may be a bit empty. Maybe you have some tips regarding the placement of mountains, rivers, and forests. Or maybe you think the overall shape is fine and doesn’t look too terrible, haha.

Thanks in advance for any comments and advice!
