Has anyone had an offer with Progressive (or another company) get held up over a background check discrepancy and still been okay?
I accepted an offer and almost everything on my background report came back verified. Criminal checks came back clear, education was verified, and my employment history was verified too.
The issue is with an older Kelly Services job. Kelly actually verified that I worked there, but HireRight found a discrepancy because the dates on an older version of my resume were incorrect. The employment itself was real, but I accidentally uploaded an earlier resume version and later updated it with the correct information.
I already explained the situation to the background team and clarified that I worked through Kelly Services on assignment with Ruffalo Noel Levitz, but now I’m stressed because they mentioned discrepancies can affect candidacy.
Has anyone had a verified job with date discrepancies or resume issues during a background check and still had everything work out? What ended up happening?
