For the last few months I’ve been listening to a lot of old country — Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, that kind of stuff.
At some point Charley Crockett started popping up in my smart shuffle. I never looked him up. I just kept adding songs because I liked them.
“All Around Cowboy” became one of my favorite songs. In my head, this dude was just some country singer from the 70s or 80s who had probably been dead for some time.
Then today I randomly found out All Around Cowboy came out in 2025.
What the fuck.
So I looked him up.
THIS MAN IS ALIVE.
Then I found out The Valley came out in 2019.
I have apparently been listening to a 42-year-old man thinking he was a historical figure.
Anyway, I think I just found my new favorite artist.
