Friend's mental health relies on exercise and surgery will prevent this. Any advice?

One of my friends is about to go through a pretty intense disc replacement surgery and she's an extremely active person. Works out just about daily and her mental health relies heavily on her ability to exercise, weight train, hike and push herself. I'm reaching out to this community in hopes that someone else may have gone through something similar and has tips on how to keep the endorphins up when you physically cannot exercise.

Sneak peak of my scape if you remember the hard scape (2nd pic)

I'm past the new tank syndrome phase but I haven't quite gotten my stem plants in order so I'll be waiting a bit longer to post pics of the whole tank.

If you remember the hard scape, welcome back; I ended up a lot more heavily planted than I initially thought I would. I'll keep ya posted!

Can you spy the pygmy corys? I just added them so they were shoaling. They are much more independent a few days later.

Am I in trouble?

Soooo my orchid started to look leathery in the leaves so I pulled it out of the pot. My friend had potted it for me. Seems like it's a pretty typical orchid mix, mostly bark (see second pic). Not sure what to do at this point. Has it been over watered? Please help. I love this plant.

Infested or normal?

I just picked this up (Kentia palm) for a hefty price and I'm wondering if I made a fatal mistake. I knew it didn't look great based on its yellowing leaves but I thought that was likely an over watering problem that I could solve but now I'm worried it's infested. Thoughts? Advice? I've beaten spider mites before on a huge pothos. Literally wiped down each leaf and stem almost every day for two weeks. I just brought it home so I don't know how much light it was getting (it was in a greenhouse). It did seem pretty wet when I picked it up so I plan to not water until it drys out. Indoor plant mix with some topsoil.

Things are a brewing :)

I started this scape back in 2024. At first it was in a 10 gallon (last picture) and it was just the driftwood. Then we bought a new house and I had to table the scape for other expenses and time. Eventually I moved the wood into a 20 gallon and shifted the scape to the left. It sat like this for over a year. I couldn't find the motivation or the inspiration to finish it. Finally I decided to just start adding aquasiloil and see where the scape takes me (we just lost a 50-100yr old spruce and I was trying to focus on what I can control). I landed on this. I think there are still some final tweaks to make, maybe on the right hand side where the dragon stone is? This part was put together more hastily with a beer 😆

My mom says it looks like a decaying forest but she's never been that into my hobby. What do you guys think?

If you read through all of this, thank you. You are my people.
