If Ocelot gets the correct gun, it's "Ocelot Wins", and if Snake misses it's called, well, "Snake Misses".

I think it's neat to look at it that way. Ocelot had the whole thing set up so that even if Snake wins, Ocelot doesn't lose (he gets the satisfaction of saying it's a blank, and remains un-shot). But Snake can make Ocelot lose by refusing to play his game.

Wait, why?

The second-to-last reveal of MGS2 is that the AIs have been funneling money into Philanthropy. This goes against their stated and demonstrated goals of shutting Snake down. Especially in 2009, when Ocelot states Snake was not an intended part of the S3 Plan, and Liquid states he invited him independently.

Is this explained in MGS4 at all? Did AL or one of the others decide to go rogue and not mention this to JD, GW, or whichever was formally in charge of S3? Was Liquid already manipulating the AIs' accounts to keep his brother in business?

Snake Eater COMPLETE Radio Profiles - MGS3 vs Delta Comparison

My comments:

  • Wow, what a neat Easter egg, four pages per character.
  • Is the tea bad or does Zero just always look grumpy?
  • I think the text overlapping is an HD Collection bug, but I'm not certain of that.
  • Removing all the spaces from the text was certainly a choice Konami made. They also fixed spelling for "Potatoes" and "Wrttn (written) apologies" instead of "Wrrtn (wrriten) apologies".
  • Is that EVA studying with the Philosophers?
  • TOP SECRET!
  • Sigint ballin'

From the character viewer in Delta. As you probably know, Portable Ops reveals >!Sokolov was not killed!<. It's unfortunate, the PO producer (Noriaki Okamura) is still at Konami and actually produced Delta too, but I guess someone's decided they aren't working it in with what they're doing these days.

This does make me more interested to see how the Volume 2 re-release of the MGS4 Database will handle references to PO events.
