Study permit approved but program got suspended before starting, what to do?
I will keep it short.
February 2026: Received an offer for the September intake at a college in Canada.
March 2026: Applied for a study permit.
Early May 2026: Study permit was approved.
After approval, the college informed me that my original program was suspended. I transferred to another program at the same level of education, same college (the same DLI), same duration, and same cost. The only difference is that the new program is at a different campus of the same college (the same DLI and province), in another city. I do not need to apply for a new study permit.
Has anyone experienced this before?
What worries me is that IRCC does not know about my new program. From what I understand, I have two options:
Carry both the original letter of acceptance and the new letter of acceptance when traveling to Canada, and explain the change to the border officer.
Notify IRCC via Webform: upload the new letter of acceptance, a letter of explanation, and a revised study plan.
What should I do? Only option one, only option two, or both (notify IRCC and still bring both letters to the border)?
