Double standards much?

So I've beaten saint twice now. At first I thought the Rubicon would be more like a mid-game area where I got something, but nope, I just ascended. Then I replayed it and ascended Moon and Pebbles, also went all the way through Submerged Superstructure only for echo there to just say "congratulation!!!! yuo did it!!!1!!!". At the Rubicon they then told me that the Big Problem needs info from the afterlife to actually be solved, so I guess I need to replay it? I heard someone saying that the saint is the triple affirmative, so do I just go around ascending everyone? I don't wanna have to replay it if nothing different happens.
