KC used the EXACT playbook of my insecure ex with Aniya

I’m not American so I always visualised the phrase “chip on your shoulder” as having a crack in your ego (think of how a ceramic chips). Through repeated stressors and rejections, the chip eventually grows into a full crack and they use those jagged edges to attack and wound others. KC seems to have an inferiority complex that he thinks he can remedy with dominion over others. When Aniya said no to his bids for physical intimacy, she was protected by the fact that they are in a controlled environment. So, unable to dominate her in that way, he chose to humiliate her as a second resort. If he can make her doubt her desirability then he thinks she’ll be the one chasing. He can’t find the defining factor that’d would make him feel superior to her (because ultimately that’s what his ego is crying out for), so he starts to build resentment. Men like that come in hot, compliment the thing you’re insecure about, push you for intimacy, cajole and coerce and when that doesn’t work, start bragging about being pursued by other women and humiliates you by repeatedly not acknowledging you in public (even in front of friends). Because I come from a relatively good family (although not as good as Aniya’s), I had to be punished because my ex envied the imagined “ease” of my life. Insecure guys like KC feels like someone has to pay for what they’ve been through. Sometimes men are drawn to you because of what you embody, and the confidence they lack. And instead of learning how to be more self assured, they end up pulling you down without any remorse because the feel like they have to be the ones to teach you that life isn’t “sunshine and rainbows” and will also manufacture difficulties in the relationship to “ground you”. KC showing who he is in the villa is a huge W for Aniya because if they were on the outside, it’s likely he would’ve been working overtime to humble her.
