My dog's leash came off but it's not broken

I was walking with my dog at 5 in the morning. She is a 25kg working line GSD. I have her on an escape proof harness from truelove and I always double check if I have clipped everything properly. When she was having a reaction suddenly the leash came off and she bolted but thankfully came back to me. I thought the leash broke but it didn't . I don't know how that even happens. Can bolt snaps fail like that?

My brain has gotten numb since then and I keep thinking what might have happened if it was a busy road. This was my nightmare. She is not a biter but I'm sure anyone can get scared.

What kind of leash is more secure for reactive dogs? I'm definitely using a backup leash from now on.

Any advice on how to walk my dog with streeties everywhere?

Hi, I recently moved to a new place so that my dog has plenty of space to walk and sniff. What I didn't know is that there are streeties in every corner in this area. It's been a few months and my dog has been attacked and chased down by dogs multiple times. I always carry treats when I take her on walks and 95 percent of the dogs have accepted us in their territory but these 1-2 dogs keep charging at my dog whenever we go out. Things got so bad that it's been a week that I haven't been able to take her out of my building because one of the gangs started sleeping in my building's garage.

I have a GSD who really needs her exercise but taking her out has become such a panic for both of us idk what to do. I don't understand why they love me and come to me wagging their tail but absolutely hate my dog ( My dog is very scared of them and only barks when they come too close). Any suggestions from fellow pet parents?

PS: just to be clear I don't hate any community dog whatsoever and I know they are not the problem here. Our system failed them and they are just protecting their territory.
