Why lie about carry on availability?
I'm on a flight from Austin to Houston. The gate agent said multiple times that this plane could only fit 65 carry-ons. I assumed this meant we were on an older or smaller plane, which made sense hiven the short distance. Got on & it has the deep overhead bins that can fit 5-6 normal-sized bags. There's over 30 rows on the plane, so it should be easily 120-150 bags, not 65.
It doesn't affect me on this flight but it has in the past when connections were tight, so I feel bad for tbe people boardkng later. This just confuses me. Why would you tell people this when they'll know it's a lie as soon as they step on the plane? What are they trying to accomplish (because I assume there's a real reason & not just "who cares about the plebs in economy?")?
