Battery operated toy phone turns on when I turn the light off

I have a Halloween decoration; a battery operated toy phone which rings and says creepy things when you pick it up.

Oddly, whenever I flip the light switch off in the room where the phone’s located, it activates the phone — it rings and talks the same way it does when you pick it up.

It happens every time I turn the light switch off, but never when I turn the switch on (or for any other reason).

Can someone explain this?

If Roger L. Jackson ever becomes unavailable, do you think future Scream movies would still feature his voice (i.e., via AI)?

I’m just curious what your thoughts are.

Arguably, Roger L. Jackson is the most important part of a Scream movie (even Sydney, obviously, hasn’t been in every movie).

These movies could continue forever, but I can’t imagine one without that voice (admittedly, I haven’t seen the show, which I know did not feature him in every season).

Is this a situation where it would be ok to use AI to replace an actor who became unavailable?

I’m back and forth on it,
