How do hose accessories like nozzle guns turn off the water?
So when you attach something like a nozzle gun, you can turn the water on and off from the nozzle, right? How dies that turn the water off? Why does the water stop flowing? How does it "tell" the hose to stop the water from flowing?

Battery operated toy phone turns on when I turn the light off
I have a Halloween decoration; a battery operated toy phone which rings and says creepy things when you pick it up.
Oddly, whenever I flip the light switch off in the room where the phone’s located, it activates the phone — it rings and talks the same way it does when you pick it up.
It happens every time I turn the light switch off, but never when I turn the switch on (or for any other reason).
Can someone explain this?
