Summary of movie 6

Hello everyone! I just watched movie 6 in theaters and I thought I'd give a summary of it. Keep in mind I don't speak Japanese fully so there's a bunch of stuff I've missed, especially when it comes to the characters talking. This chapter was full of those moments as well.

Things will not be in the same order as the movie due to the amount of lore and stuff, but I tried to mention everything I remember. I know it's very messy, but for those interested in the lore, I hope it's enough while you wait.

The movie started with a recap of Saburo Kato's backstory and how he died in 2205. I believe it was narrarated by Makoto herself.

The movie then continues where the last movie left off. The Yamato hovers over 2026 Tokyo. The crew are left shocked as JSDF F2s fly in and attempts to contact the Yamato (in english).

Sasha quickly warns the other crew members that they need to leave immedietly and the Yamato flies through Tokyo. Multiple famous locations and statues are shown, including the sitting/thinking statue in the original and Gundam!

The Yamato almost flies into Tokyo skytree, but quickly manages to avoid crashing into it. They take off into space and hide behind the moon. After a quick meeting in the operations room, they decide to contact Kiryu's great great ancestors due to some reason I couldn't understand.

They manage to contact Kiryuu's great great great grandfather(?) and after showing him the events of 2199-2205, speak with him. They agree to cooperate with him further.

Back at earth, Kitano, Shino and Papa Nanbu are planing to hold some sort of announcement but they are hijacked by the partisans who are staging small attacks around the new capital. Hoshina paints the words "REBEL3199" on a destroyed Garm biu. Nambu tells of how the "Partisan attacks on the museum was staged by Dezarium, among other things"

In respose, Dezarium makes their own annoucment calling all of the partisans words fake. Alphons has had enough of Dezariums lies and decides to leave the mansion with Yuki but they are stopped by Ishidore who claims Yuki has manipulated Alphonse.

Yuki herself speaks to Ishidore and encourages him to remove his com medal. Ishidore is uncertain and shoots but misses, Afterwhich Dezarium police raid the house while Yuki and Alphon escapes.

Back at the Yamato, the crew are growing restless due to being stuck 2000 years in the past with no known way home. As a result, Domon speaks to the younger crew members and decide to start a mutiny. He tries to speak to captain Yamanami, Kodai and Shima but after they refuse to listen he decides to turn things violent.

Domon plans to go back to Iscandar and Gamilas, and tell Desler of planet Galman so they don't need to bomb earth.

Yamanami, Sanada, Shima and Kiryu head for earth to further cooperate with Grandpa Kiryu. Kodai is placed as temporary captain(?)

Miyako is one of the crew members who refuse to go along with the plan, and as Domon threatens her at gun point she tells him to shoot. He doesn't, and after a bit of back and forth she slaps him and runs away.

Sasha meets Starsha and Yurisha, as they appear before her using their powers. Analyzer also watches over her and when asked who ordered him to, he says "I tell no lies, it was you".

Crew members who refuse to partake in the mutiny are loaded on fire boats and dropped into space as the mutiners take control of the bridge. Kodai himself remains because he Yamanami asked him to "overse things to the end, as a captain".

Sasha has smuggled with her a bunch of com medals, and the mutiners wear them, including Kodai. Sasha asks Kodai why he refuses to leave the Yamato, to which he replies "Because we are family".

The yamato flies off and Mother dezarium takes control of the ship, testing her new weapons. All of the crew members submit of Mothers control, exept Sasha who things about Kodai's words and mothers control over the ship shatters.

All of the younger crew members see their dead loved ones, including Tasuke (Tokugawa Hikozaemon), Ageha (His dead mother) and Domon who sees his father. As they turn around however, they see the loved ones who are still alive and Domon sees Miyako.

The crew give up on Domons plan, and Domon says he'll take full responsibility of his actions. Kodai tells him he needs to do something before that. They return and Domon and Miyako meet in space and embrace as earth hovers behind them. (Similar to how Kodai and Yuki reunite in 2199).

Back on earth, former Yamato crew members are targeted. Tsubasa Kato is beaten up in school and as Kosaka sensei badly confeses his love for Makoto, he is shut down. In anger he destroys captain Okitas statue as Jiro watches in disbelief.

Alphon and Yuki contact Makoto and they stay overnight at her apartment. Afterwhich they meet up with Hoshina who picks them up with a truck. They are ambushed but make it away. Unfortunatly, Makoto and Tsubasa are arrested.

Ishidore has also removed his com medal and contacts Maxim. He eventually joins the partisans and Yuki tells him that she know he would remove the medal himself.

Hoshina encounters Yuria, who tells him that she despite marrying him, couldn't become his family. As she walks away, Hoshina breaks down and tells her that he wants to be hugged as well, and they make up.

Makoto is interogated first by Kousaka and then blackmailed by Todo Shino, but she holds her ground and tells her that she has probobly never been loved before.

Nanbu, Aihara, Ota, Alphon and Ishidore are all captured by Dezarium. But Papa Nambu releases them (exept Alphon and Ishidore as they are taken elsewere.)

Hoshina speaks to Yuki the partisans prepare to assault the grand reverse and retake the Ginga. The attack has 3 phases, first older Kongo class ships draw the Dezarium fleet away, secondly ground forces assault Dezarium ground troops both on the moon and around the grand reverse. Finaly, aircraft drop wave motion cores upon the grand reverse itself.

Saki storms the Ginga, it's a tough fight, with even the Gamilan Ambassador and Gamilan robots helping. Saki makes it to the cosmo reverse and starts breaking the containment keeping Kanzaki asleep. She is shot and as her blod drips down onto Kanzaki, she is able to contact her in her coma.

The ginga activates and flies off, firing it's main gun and ramming straight through two golbas, destroying them completely.

As the battle rages on, Yuki takes the helm of the Arizona together with Yuria and Hoshina.

Sasha flies back to earth together with analyzer, and deep inside the planet lies a Dezarium facility, containing none other than Niimi. Sasha, believing Niimi to have died jumps to her in Joy, but Niimi does not remember her.

TL:DR

Yamato side:

Escapes the earth and hides behind the moon. They contact Mikage Kiryu's great ancestors and cooperate with him but Domon decides to launch a rebellion to try and alter history himself. Miyako and other crewmembers who are against him are kicked out of the ship.

Sasha has smuggled in com medals and Mother takes control of the ship but fails to subdue everyone due to Kodai staying aboard. Domon gives up his plan and embraces Miyako.

Sasha has visions of Starsha and Yurisha, but also speaks to mother herself. She heads for the "Fake earth" and encounters Niimi in a deep Dezarium facility.

Earth side:

Yuki and Alphon join the partisans. Tsubasa and Makoto are arrested by Dezarium. Kousaka fails to start a relationship with Makoto, and destroys heroes hill in anger. Ishidore also joins the partisans afterwards.

Hoshina makes up with Yuria, and the partisans launch a gigantic operation against Dezarium. Alphon, Ishidore along with Nambu, Aihara and Ota. Papa Nambu makes up with his son and helps him, Aihara and Ota escape after being captured.

Saki gets shot in the chest as she retakes the Ginga but speaks with Kanzaki through her coma. The ginga takes off and destroy two gingas as it battles other Dezarium ship.

Yuki becomes captain of the Arizona with Hoshina and Yuria among it's crew.
