Benoit Richaud on working with Sasha:
“We had five full days on the ice working with Sasha. The music for the program was already ready, and I suggested it, but let Sasha reveal it herself. I can only say that it's more mature and sophisticated music. There's musical development in the program, but the foundation is more towards classical. Our work turned out to be very interesting.
I really liked the result, and I hope people will see that she can do more than just jump. It's interesting that in this incomplete week, we could see her open up in a new way. Some things weren't quite familiar to her at first, and she even didn't believe it - she said "no, no, this isn't my story, I can't do it". But you should have seen the final result! The skating, the way she hears the music, the attention to the glide and the edge - I think she believed in herself more. I could see it even in her mother's eyes - she was present at our training sessions.
And Sasha has an incredibly cute son. Misha is a very beautiful little boy, have you seen him? I told Sasha that he's made for movies or modeling. And he has an angelic character, he smiles all the time and isn't afraid of anyone.
In working with every athlete, I discover something new for myself, which makes me stronger and better. Sasha is a super professional, she knows very well how things work on the ice, but I think she also discovered something new for herself during these days. This was our first experience of working together, we hadn't met before. And I saw how at first she was observing me and was a bit reserved. At first, she often said she didn't quite understand what I wanted from her, but by the end of the work, she blossomed and opened up. We were on the same wavelength and could already understand each other without words.”
