Good Guy with A Gun! A New Musical Comedy Album

Just got done listening to the concept album, and I LOVED this. Some of the most nuanced, original, and refreshing satire I've heard since probably The Book of Mormon. Really catchy music, stacked cast, and funny as hell. Hoping more people take notice and give it a listen!

Does anybody know how cast recordings are actually made?

With Cats: The Jellicle Ball announcing their cast recording, I’ve always been curious about the process of making a Broadway cast recording and what it actually takes to make one…

WITW: How A Marriott Destroyed 5 Broadway Theaters

On March 22nd 1982, 5 Historic Broadway Theaters (Including the Morosco, Bijou and Helen Hayes), were destroyed to make way for what would become the Marriot Marquis.

Wait In The Wings’ newest documentary “Final Curtain” tells the story of the Save the Theaters as they challenged powerful developers, city officials, Broadway producers, and even the United States government. The group waged a years-long battle to save the theaters that defined the heart of the theater district.

This is the story of the people who refused to let Broadway history disappear.

Is it time for a reckoning on Broadway?

With Cats: The Jellicle Ball closing we find ourselves once again reminded that the system that is meant to reward diverse voices chooses profits over creativity and risk. It is no longer the art form that it once was the expensive, the greedy landlords, the silencing of diverse voices. So I ask this, is it time for a cultural political and social reckoning in the realm of Broadway?

Could Lin Manuel Miranda Make Broadway History in the 2026/27 Season?

I don't know who needs to read this but there is a slight possibility we could witness a once in a blue moon occurrence happen in the 2026/27 Broadway season as Lin Manuel Miranda could have all three of his musicals running simultaneously on Broadway.

We all know that In The Heights is gonna be New York City Center's Annual Gala presentation this year and given their recent track record of of less concert stagings and more fully realized productions and the high ticket demand already (and that's before a cast announcement and performances even begin) I would not be surprised if a transfer becomes imminent.

Obviously there's Hamilton which has been running for well over 10 years now and is probably gonna run for 10 years more, and they just announced Chris Jackson is returning to play Washington for a limited engagement so expect those tickets to be very high in price and sell out very quickly.

And lastly Warriors which will be playing right across the street from Hamilton at the Lunt-Fontanne

Now this has happened before Andrew Lloyd Webber achieved this in 2017 and Rodgers and Hammerstein decades before in 1953.

But with ST: The First Shadow closing in January if In The Heights ends up taking the Marquis Theater, this would make LMM the first composer in history to have all three musicals running simultaneously on Broadway AND in the same street. Do you think this could actually happen?

Writing a Broadway Fantasy Novel…need help

So in the aftermath of the Tony awards as is usual with most artists, I’ve become inspired to work on something. In this case for me, I’ve been thinking about writing a fantasy novel centered around Broadway and the theatre world. I’m trying to do some research and I want to ask you all what’s one aspect of Broadway that not a lot of people know about but you do that would be perfect to incorporate into a fantasy setting…we’re talking secret societies, hidden rooms inside Broadway houses whatever it is, give me something most people don’t always know

Black Swan @ A.R.T.

I'm very curious about this show as a newfound Dave Malloy fan. I obviously unfortunately won't be able to make it to Cambridge (the entire run is sold out anyway), so if anybody manages to have an audio, I'd very much appreciate it

Galileo is one of my most anticipated new musicals this season so if anybody has audio so I can get a bit of an early listen to some of the songs, I would greatly appreciate it
