When is the best time of year to lay grass seed?

Hi all, Just wondering, when is the best time of the year to lay grass seed? Should I wait till March/April next year, or could I do it in September?

I've been ripping up my garden, which had loads of concrete in it, over the past couple of months and am not far off from just rotavating and adding topsoil. I wanted to know if I am rushing it by doing it in September.

11.5-month-old on lap for a long-haul flight — pay for their own seat?

Flying from Heathrow to LA in December with my baby, who will be 11.5 months old at the time.

British Airways allows children under 2 to travel on a parent’s lap, but we also have the option of paying around £200 for them to have their own seat.

For anyone who has travelled long-haul with a baby around this age — particularly on a flight as long as Heathrow to LA — how did you find having them on your lap for the whole journey?

Is it manageable, or would you strongly recommend paying for the extra seat? £250 isn’t a huge amount in the grand scheme of the trip, but obviously I’d rather not spend it if it’s unnecessary.

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s done a similar journey with a 10–12 month old. What would you do if you were in my position?

BDO Tech Consulting in UK

Came across Data Manager Consilting roles at BDO. But thought they were just a tax and accounting firm

From a reputation perspective, how big is BDO as a consulting firm? One person told me they were the tier below Big Four. Is this true?

I wonder if having someone like them on your CV hold weight compared to the likes of Big 4 or boutique tech consultancy (accenture/Capgemini etc)

Can you lay soil and grass seed on top of concrete?

Looking for advice on a garden renovation. Got a concrete path running through the middle of my garden and to the front right. The plan is to break up the concrete with a jackhammer, leave the rubble in place for drainage, rotavate the existing grass, then add topsoil across the whole garden before seeding with grass.

Is breaking up the concrete and covering with topsoil a solid approach, or would I be better off fully removing it? Would the rubble underneath cause any long term issues for the lawn?

Also what depths of soil are needed for grass normally?

Thanks in advance

I’ve got an interview with a Big Four firm next week and wanted to get a sense of the etiquette around bringing a copy of my CV.

Is it normal/acceptable to have it with you during the interview to occasionally refer back to your experience, or does that come across as unprepared?

For context, I wouldn’t be reading off it, just using it as a prompt if needed. Curious what others have done and how it’s perceived.

Hi all, just wondering, does anyone actually pay someone to do their website / google search optimisation / social media posts?

Always hear mixed things about it. Some say it brings work in, others say it’s a waste.

Thinking about it myself so just wanted to see what people reckon.
