I stopped to talk to the electricians on strike today downtown Fredericton. Great group of people who were happy to talk to me, I was under the impression that electricians were the highest paid trade on construction sites but they told me that for the last several years they’ve been the lowest after going multiple years with no contract, and now their contractors association is telling them that that’s in the past and they’re not willing to give raises to make up the difference. Highly recommend stopping in, I brought them some cold Gatorade and they were incredible greatful! They informed me they have sites closed in Miramichi and Bathurst as well, along with another union being on strike in Moncton.
