Any must try restaurants or activities in Fredericton?

My partner and I are staying here for a few months and I’d love recommendations on things to do and food to try! We’re not picky eaters but definitely love seafood. Any help would be great thank you😄

Gynaecologists..

UPDATE:
Thank you everyone for the suggestions! 🤍 Fingers crossed we can help her access the resources she needs 🙏🏻

How does a young woman (13 years) access a gynaecologist in this city when they have no family doctor?

Looking for lilacs!

Hello! I’m wondering if anyone in Freddy area has lilac bushes that they would allow me to take some flowers from?

I will also be going around to some neighbours and asking if I can clip a few from their bushes… I just don’t want to take too many from any individual bush.

Lilac season is a short one, and before it ends I would like to make lilac sugar and lilac jelly for baking with in the coming months!

Apple Island in French Lake

Although this is technically considered to be in “Sheffield Parish”, does anyone know anything about Apple Island in French Lake? It’s visible from the lake shores in Lakeville Corner. I know that there is, or used to be an abandoned home or structure on the island. I’ve been intrigued by this little island for many years, and as a child, always wanted to go check it out. However, today, the reason I ask is because my friend recently got a boat, and we’d like to go boating on the lake and stop for lunch on the island after years of talking about it. We just don’t want to trespass if it is private property.

If anyone has any details at all, directly relevant or not, please share!

Moving to NB and thinking about trade school what trades are best in New Brunswick?

Hey everyone, I’m planning to move to New Brunswick soon, most likely Fredericton, and I’m looking into going to NBCC for a trade program.

I want to build my future in NB long-term, so I’m trying to figure out which trades are in high demand, pay well, and have good job opportunities in the province.

Right now I’m considering things like electrical, industrial trades, power engineering, HVAC, heavy equipment, etc., but I’d really appreciate advice from people actually working in NB.

Which trades would you recommend for someone wanting stable work, good growth, and a solid career in New Brunswick?

Also, how is NBCC overall for trades programs and job placements?

Saturday crafty get together?? Weather permitting, of course.

I was thinking Saturday around 1pm-ish at Officers Square? Good spot to do crafts, grab a coffee or a snack, washrooms nearby. I'll bring my card weaving loom & my new tatting needles (hoping for a shuttle tatting lesson too 😉). Let me know if you'd like to join!

Question about the radio station socials

In my opinion if they took the time to promote small businesses surviving and thriving like they promote them closing down. We might be better off.

Businesses get more air time on their socials when they close down. Like we’re were u 12 months ago promoting my business. Yeah I get you promote billion dollar companies like Tim Hortons and McDonald’s but what about all the small places all around Fredericton that you happily ignore until u feel the need to spread the word about closing down.

Cabinet painting recommendation

Looking for recommendations for residential kitchen cabinet resurfacing/painting. We got a couple quotes already which came in a bit higher than we hoped for, wondering if anyone here has anyone to recommend. Thanks in advance 😊

Looking for recommendations for the best Baguette🥖 in Fredericton or surrounding areas. Thanks!

I’ve gotten them at fat pie shop in St.Stephen and they are great but I no longer cross the border to shop so find myself in Fredericton more often than St.Stephen.

Any recommendations would be great.

Cheers!

Hunters Crack filling & Drywall

Its very ballsy to have your company name and contact on your vehicle when you choose to drive like a moron and almost causes accidents.

And yes, the dashcam footage has been sent to the police. Just sharing for others to be on the lookout between Penniac and the Northside of Fredericton.

** edited to add, Hunters Crack filling and PAINTING.

Would it be asking too much to add a little more light? AKA, light em up, boys!

Yes, this is another message about that horrible lower Smythe Street roundabout.

If the city needs to do a whip round (that's UK talk for a donation) for this... well, whip roundabout... in order to install pedestrian flashing lights at all four intersections, I can probably muster up a few dollars. Who decided to only put those yellow flashing lights at one cross walk? Personally, I like knowing ahead of time when a human body is going to be suddenly walking out in front of my car and not in 0.00001 seconds before it happens.

There is so much going on at that location, especially between 4:30pm & 5pm that having some extra precautions would be nice. The stopping, the unsurity of who is doing what, when, and especially where. The random "traffic light of utter confusion" up ahead that no one knows what that story is all about, cars turning left at random places. Just 3 more simple lights, flashing away, saying gently "hey buddy. Would you mind allowing this human to use their legs to get from this spot to that spot? There ya go my friend, my yellow lights will get you there safe and sound. Run along now!"

And before any of you judge the people who frequent the shelter, I find they actually use the crosswalk light at the only one provided before crossing. They're actually quite respectful with that, and if I wore hats, I would tip my hat to them.
