Selective outrage is real. People do scold about generative AI while running on the same infrastructure.

>!Long Post Ahead!<

I want to note firstly this is just a take, has nothing to do with feelings and I’m writing this now and this isn’t a new argument at all by now. I am only pushing others to think logically instead resorting to insults or sarcasm when pushed out of their comfort zones.

I have a true bone to pick with the people who sit up here all day and argue with people for their usage of only “Generative AI” and not the other forms of AI that consume even just a tad. You know just the tiniest drop of water could break a dam if you’ve contributed to its use. It doesn’t make you a better person.

I’m not saying you have no right to complain but if you use Tiktok, Netflix, Google, Apple Devices, Apple Maps, Google Maps, All Amazon Web Services, Cooling Systems, Nvidia Chips, Siri, Alexa, Youtube, Smart Home Devices.

All of which you can research on your own EASILY. And then you would still be using AI unless you use DuckDuckGo, Brave Search or a real life book.

These things are optional for a smooth easy fast life that you get to enjoy every single day. So deciding to bash on someone because they directly use it while you use it equally with different program that you don’t even think about twice doesn’t make you saviour of the day. Unless you live by growing your own food, sewing all of your own clothing, manually searching for something because no smart searches, you own a flip phone which you probably don't have because how would you see this post? Slower software, slower discoveries and help for the ones who need it.

Doctors would miss early pattern recognition of diseases. And things would be less efficient. Everything in this world has their upside and downsides. Living completely offline, without the use of technology will result in a slower life which most do not want truly. Most people complain about working but work even more without these advancements. You get to be on social media almost everyday to share your opinions and enjoy your curated algorithms.

Without these things, you would still somehow complain about how slow things are and someone will invent something to make your life smoother and easier. Plus everyone wants to feel as though they are contributing something and just want to live in this world with billionaires in charge and pushing the finish line from everyone else because people are contributing to their wealth.

My question is could you stop helping them or do you just need to engage in things that don’t require much labor?

The truth is, you do not want to go back in time and you rather sit in a cool temperature home, with your ai built-in smart phone, while complaining to people online about the use of AI while using it as well when it is optional. Most of you make fun of the Amish or find their life fascinating when you preach against the dangers of technology advancement. These tech companies do not care about you and you still choose to fill their pockets selectively for your convenience.

I’m not saying I go out of my way to use AI centered things, but in my opinion it’s quite hypocritical to criticize others even if you use a small amount.

The analogy is just because you stole one cookie and the other person stole 5, it doesn’t make you better than them or a decent advocate.

It starts with action, not complaints because complaints haven’t truly gotten us anywhere unless action is taken.

Otherwise, you can just go back to making fueled hate post about the usage of ai on a platform that supports AI, instead of getting off said platform/boycotting the platform because technology doesn’t care about complaints unless you stop using it which is going to be hard for many to do so they rather complain because that’s easier to do.

Whatever feeds your dopamine levels.

I can go more into this, would love to debate.

Note: I'm not saying F yeah AI! because I have a smart phone and use social media, I'm simply annoyed with users who want to feel better than one another while partaking in the same activity, just in a different way.

TW: Feeling as though I'll never be convinced of any purpose.

This is my first post in this reddit group. I am only 26 years of age and I am black woman. I am not looking for any sympathy or for anyone to feel bad for me but I feel constantly alone in my mind, I have never actually experienced love from my father or my mother who has experienced becoming a mother 5 kids where the father just doesn't want to be present or want to be with her. I am the second oldest and I don't know how to drive because my mother would get an attitude with me asking for help and would make any excuse, I have my license but no car. I have an issue with saving because I've never had money to myself growing up. My grandmother is schizo so she contributed to my mother's attitude of helping her and feeling neglected as well as my grandfather not being there either. I was raised in NYC where most women have a tough way about how they talk to you or handle things. So, I'd say my mother just wasn't a nice person to me or my siblings and that's why my siblings and I have grown apart so heavily due to the trauma of the adults who brought us into this world. Any my absent father who would come around only if my mother advised him to do so. So, to sum that up, more to this, I've developed such deep depression since I was 10, being bullied in school for looking ethnically black by my own kind has contributed to that but I'm not saying I hate the way I look, I'm saying they hate the way I look so they punished me for not being pleasing to their eyes. And that follows, I tried dating with my own kind but only ended up in emotional abusive or something to hide "only see at night" and even outside of my race, "first black girl" or again a situationship/something in regards to sex. I usually try to date within my race but I understand from a little girl that black boys have bullied me and even as well as now, how we talk about each other, I still have an open heart to it but I no longer want to explore. I don't exactly like the idea of dating outside my race but I have tried and felt quite uncomfortable to how I am perceived immediately after the first meeting so I just quit dating all together. I've never been taught how date, or taught how to do much of anything. Trapped in the house all the time because my mother was depressed and would scare us about the dangers of what's going on out in the world to prevent us from going anywhere. I don't even know what happiness even feels like, because I'm constantly being told that I just do not matter even if it's indirect. It's hard for me to focus on school, work because i'll start to break down on a call. I know I have to try to love myself and figure out what that is like. I just don't know where to start. I've been alone for 20 years in my mind and it has led me to almost taking my own life. I have spoken to a therapist about these things (she's black herself) but I can't escape the reality of hatred of my existing. You can only be punched down so much and I was never the strong black woman and I don't want to be. Why should I have to be anymore. I'm not looking for approval from people, I'm just very tired of living in a world where my existence is abused the most as a woman and being black. And then with what they call politics which is my right to exist in the United States, it feels like constantly bullying and mockery and it's not only coming from the oppressor. It's too much... Not to mention, trying to have friends with other black girls and not fitting in because I don't move or behave a certain way but ofc I came here to find community because black women are the only ones who can understand what I mean I'd hope. I know that my experience is unique regarding my family but what throws me over is the treatment of just not being another race. It's truly the kicker and therapy is just not helping so I'm leaning toward keeping my eyes closed these days.

This is all over the place, I am just looking for real/true responses that do not try to baby me on this because I can't live these days. I'm stuck in my house, I'm scared of people, I only order out. I'm struggling with the question of why am I here in this circle jerk while the others get to have the option to breathe, just a tad, just a little if race was never a problem in their lives.
