Hey so this probably has been discussed before but I just have to ask if y’all ever feel like Jem and Tessa had a more platonic vibe to their relationship. Just hear me out.
The reason I think this is that I feel like in TID Tessa would have not considered Jem as more than a friend if he hadn’t started pursuing her. Like being romantically involved with Jem wasn’t even on her mind until the kiss scene in bedroom in book 2. Even when kissing him she always thought about Will. And there’s more to that…
I never doubted that she loved Jem but I just never bought her romantic feelings for him. Even when Jem asked to marry her, her inner monologue and reaction felt like she was doing it out of obligation or her desire to make him happy. I mean Tessa said herself she wanted to protect him or shield him(smth along the lines of that). It’s kind of a strange thought to be having abt someone ur marrying in my opinion.
Also Tessa literally slept with Will moments after she found out Jem was "dead." I totally understand why she did this, as she and Will were scared, heartbroken, and basically accepted that they were going to die, so they sought comfort in each other. But if she was that deeply in love Jem, I don't think she would immediately sleep with her fiance's soul brother immediatley after hearing about his death. Again no hate to Tessa, I do understand her POV.
Overall I just always saw them as best friends with mutual respect and understanding for each other. Anyways no hate to any of these characters cuz I truly do love them as individuals- it’s just the dynamic I have an issue with. Let me know what y’all think.
I love both so much don’t get me wrong but I’d have to say Will because I love to just geek out with him about books lol.
Ok so I know that nearly every character has faced hardships and trauma at some point in their lives but Magnus and Tess have it the worst out of the MAIN characters(in my opinion).
Magnus and Tessa are in a never ending loop of seeing the people they love die over and over again. It always makes me tear up when I think about how Jem and Mina will eventually pass and Tessa will be left alone all again. Tessa lost her husband, children, friends and will do so again. And after Will and Jem she’ll basically have no one for the rest of her immortal life. Same with Magnus in regard to Alec. All the other characters will find peace in the afterlife with their loved ones except for these two. Ugh it’s soon unfair I just needed to get this off my chest.
Since Cassie confirmed that we'll get a Herongraystairs reunion in The Wicked Powers, how do y'all think it's gonna happen?
What are your theories for Will, Jem, and Tessa's reunion? Do you think it'll be happy, bittersweet, or heartbreaking?
And do we think Tessa is making it to the end of the series? I think Cassie also said there will be a main character death. I've seen many people predict that Tess will die, and now I'm curious what everyone thinks.
I feel like Will and Julian were the MOST devoted tbh. Curious to hear y'alls opinions.
