You can vow to plant 2x new trees but can you revive the ecosystem?

Almost all the trees near the Govind bhawan ( water supply office side) have been cut down.

Why do this?

Is there no alternative?

Don't they know that even a small park like area sustains a living ecosystem?

Is the Academic environment and innovation at IITR genuinely below par compared to other good IITs?

As I get to know the department and the professors more and more, I feel that the academic rigour, and the college environment is quite poor? As a jee aspirant I always thought that IITs are innovation hub. That i will get to tinker and create. That there would some great innovations going on. But what I see is, professors uninterested in genuinely imparting knowledge ( dont know why), students rarely doing something out of the box. Everybody chasing a good package, doing DSA,cp, coding, copy pasting codes, projects. Nothing creative, nothing new being developed. Why is that so. Am I in a bubble? Are there cool things being developed by people on campus?

Are there any places on campus where I can find tulasi plant. Preferably near to thomson building. There are a few in the Saraswati mandir but it's far away and I need to fetch them everyday morning for medicine purpose.
