Beads

This is our first time installing beads, we are both so excited 🥹 I’m about halfway through. I was wondering if anyone has a good rule of thumb for how many beads might be too heavy for a toddler’s hair. I don’t see any visible pulling or tension, but I wanted to check with those who have more experience just to be safe. Thanks in advance!

Pressure to start Treatment

My orthodontist told me that before starting treatment, I needed to see a dentist to make sure my teeth were healthy enough for Invisalign. However, for some reason, they went ahead and took scans of my teeth on the same day as my consultation.

When I saw the dentist, I found out that all four of my wisdom teeth need to be removed because they have significant cavities. I contacted the orthodontist to let them know I would need to postpone my next appointment until after the extractions. That’s when they started encouraging me to continue treatment, explaining that Invisalign trays don’t extend “that far back” and that removing the wisdom teeth shouldn’t affect my treatment.

I’m confused because that doesn’t make sense to me. I’ll be having four teeth extracted, which seems like a significant change, and I would assume I’d need time to heal and possibly even be rescanned afterward. They also told me that my first set of trays has already arrived at their office.

At this point, I’m feeling concerned about how this process is starting. If my orthodontist originally wanted dental clearance before treatment, why were scans taken before that clearance was obtained? And is it normal to proceed with Invisalign immediately before having four wisdom teeth removed? I’d appreciate any insight on whether this is standard practice and how I should handle this conversation with my orthodontist.

I’m looking into Invisalign for spacing and would love to hear from people who had a similar starting point.

Did you notice any facial changes at all, and what did your treatment look like? Also curious how long it actually took and whether you’re happy with the end result. Anything you wish you knew beforehand?

I’d especially appreciate before/after photos if you’re comfortable sharing.
