Critique Groups?

Hi, guys, I've written my first novel, which is Book One in a trilogy. So far, it's gotten a positive review from Kirkus Reviews and other outlets and retailers.

But it's been about a year since I wrote Book One and during that time I had to get surgery for eye cancer and it set me back a bit.

Has anyone ever been in this type of situation where you have to get back your mojo? Do critique groups or are they hit or miss?

Andes virus: What nurses need to know

>How is Andes virus transmitted?

>Hantavirus is spread from contact with rodent urine, feces, or saliva. Transmission from a rodent can occur through multiple pathways:

>Inhalation of hantaviruses that have become aerosolized is the most likely form of transmission. The virus may become airborne when nesting materials and rodent droppings are disturbed, such as during cleaning.

AIOSEO Plugin Bug

All In One SEO plugin is showing a bug since their latest update, a fatal error in their PHP. My host is Pressable. When I asked Pressable to confirm, they easily and quickly found the code. I sent it to AIOSEO and they wrote me back saying they couldn't do anything without getting Admin access to my site, even though their own changelog showed this as a known bug, and i guess the correction just was not rolled out or not sent to all users yet or some other thing.

If they won't acknowledge the bug, and want Admin access to my site:

How safe is it to give them Admin access when they want me to email them a username and password?

Could I easily export the AIOSEO settings if I install RankMath and then go back and uninstall and remove AIOSEO plugin?

I don't really want to give Admin access to the site, especially through email, and it makes me nervous they don't acknowledge the bug and simply offer a patch.

Finding Videos

Hi, I LOVE critical analyses of speculative fiction. Sort of like, reviews and analyses of every episode of "The Outer Limits" or "The Twilight Zone," or a "Walking Dead" series analysis and overview.

Can anyone recommend a decent YouTube channel that might offer these types of videos.

Andes Hantavirus is Airborne, not just spread by contact with mouse droppings or fluids

Andes Hantavirus is Airborne:

There is a huge amount of downplaying and gaslighting this virus. Yes, it's serious if you get it and what stops spread is more its lethality than its ability to be shared. It is not only spread by touching infected mice, their droppings, urine, or some-such. It's also spread by being near someone who has it already.

Experts like Dr. Emily Abdoler (University of Michigan Health) have noted on news outlets that the Andes strain unique because it can travel via respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs or talks.

The official CDC Emergency Andes Virus Investigation Brief proves that hospitals are explicitly ordered to treat this as an airborne pathogen. The CDC officially instructs healthcare providers to place suspected Andes virus patients into an Airborne Infection Isolation Room (AIIR) and mandates that workers wear an N95 or higher-level respirator before entering the room to avoid breathing it

The scientific analysis published in The British Medical Journal (BMJ) features public health experts explicitly warning against downplaying the airborne risks of the Andes hantavirus. The authors demand that international agencies immediately implement strict precautionary airborne mitigation strategies—such as portable HEPA filtration and strict respirator use—across all tight quarantine quarters

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) Outbreak Report verifies that the primary way hantaviruses enter human populations is completely airborne. They note that the virus is contracted through the inhalation of aerosols contaminated with the urine, feces, or saliva of infected rodents that have become suspended in the ambient air.

Promotion

I've written my first novel that's garnered a positive Kirkus Review, won some minor awards, been well-reviewed in general across the web but nobody knows it exists. I've run some Facebook ad campaigns, am retired and living from savings so am not rich and trying to wrap my head around how to get the word out that my book exits.

Each option seems limited:

Go to conventions and "cons," rent a table, sit there and watch people walk past and hope one will look at my book and consider buying a copy. They cost alot to attend, are stressful to prep for and go to and carry large boxes around for after going through cancer and the one I went to was depressing since there were dozens of indie authors there with nobody selling one book at all.

Amazon Ads seem hit or miss and expensive

BookBub Ads, not sure

BookInfluencers dot come seems sketchy but I don't know.

One agency told me to just keep writing and after I have more books, then promote them, which to me seems like them saying "your budget is not big enough for us."

Updates from multiple sources

Hi, I'm a total newb to Linux Mint. I can use it for almost everything like email, writing, studying tutorials (which is the bulk of what I do online) but don't understand Bash codes or commands yet and have a weird glitch.

I just updated Mint to the latest version of Mint offered on my PC about 1 day ago. It looked great but when I went to use Simple Screen Recorder to record a webinar so I could watch it later - it would record the video but with no sound at all. I could watch the video being recorded but when I played back the recording no sound at all. And it worked fine minutes earlier before I updated as I was able to record a YouTube video tutorial fine and use VLC to convert it to MP3 for listening to later. Now I can't use Simple Screen Recorder to record any video any more since the playback sound will be gone. Can anyone please help? Is there a way to revert it back to the previous version of Linux Mint when the recording worked?
