Does The Hills hold up as quality entertainment in 2026?

Hi, everyone! I am 39 and am a HUGE fan of The Hills. I watched it during its original airing in college and have rewatched it countless times. I’m a college English instructor and reference media often. One day, reality tv came up and I mentioned The Hills. My students had never heard of it, which fair, it’s over twenty years old at this point (wtf). I told a few students to give it a watch. A few class periods later a couple students told me they watched it thought it was as boring. I was flabbergasted. Am I old? Out of touch? Would it be considered boring to most 18-20 year olds today? Are sex tapes and beef curtains and beach boots no longer dramatic? (Fuck Spencer Pratt for spreading that rumor)

(Maybe Dumb) Question from Newbie.

Hi! I am an elder millennial who is new to TikTok. I have a question that might be stupid. When people upload story time-like videos, aren’t they worried that the person they are discussing will see it?

For example, let’s say it’s a TikTok about a friend they are angry with and they ask people to tell them what they think in the comments. Aren’t they worried that the friend will see the TikTok and it will be really awkward?

Or let’s say someone posts a TikTok explaining their messy divorce. Won’t it be weird for their coworkers, acquaintances, etc. to see it?

Maybe I’m more private than the average person, but I just cannot imagine making a negative TikTok about someone I know. Isn’t the other person like “hey, why did you make that weird/mean TikTok about me?”

Are most story time TikToks made up or do some people just not care if absolutely everyone sees it?
