My Best supplements when suffering from (S)AI

I have been suffering from SAI since a little over two years and two attempts to get off medicine has so far failed, but will try reducing the medicine even slower now with my endo.

As we know life with this disease can be very tough, exhausting and with lack of energy and I feel that there are some supplements that has helped me live a bit better.

First tier (safest)

Creatine - Creatine is known to give the body more strength, after using it I found it more easy to do occasional heavy lifts, like when I need to lift the back of my motorbike, to arrange parking etc, or lift heavy water bottles of 19L to different floors in the house (we don't have drinkable tap water here. Creatine is also known to help with depression and mental strength, but there seems to have a small risk of increasing anxiety for some.

Creatine is the most researched supplement and it is clear that it is very safe and it seems to have no risk whatsoever in worsening symptoms and recovery in SAI.

Vitamin C Liposomal form

I tend to very easy catch airway infections and colds, living in tropical climate makes it worse. When I take 1 daily 500mg capsule of VCL daily, the risk of me getting sick reduces a lot, I really find that it boosts my not well functioning immune system. If I'm sick I increase to 2-4 capsules daily and I heal faster. On some light research with AI, Vitamin C is also said to possibly aid in the long recovery from SAI. I use NOW brand. I also do eat black garlic daily, or especially when sick and it also helps with recovering from diseases. VCL ha superior bioavailability and effect compared to normal Vitamin C, not even comparable in my experience.

Magnsium Glycinate / Sodium, Potassium & Calcium

Magnesium Glycinate is said to be one of the most beneficial supplements for the vast mass with reduced body aches, easier sleep, reducing cramps etc. That also applies to us. Calcium supplementation reduces the risk of heavy symptoms from osteoporosis which is a risk when using hydrocortisone long term, although I don't think it can reverse it. It just strengthens the bones in a way that reduces symptoms.
In tropical climates we more easy lose salts so a good intake of the other two, Potassium & Sodium will also help reduce risk of muscle pain / cramps.

L-Arginine (or L-Citrulline & Beet powder)

I often suffer form poor blood circulation and blood pressure drops and feel very cold when the weather is cold. Using L-Arginine boosts nitrous oxide which also boosts your endurance and energy and aiding your heart and blood flow. If you have similar sypmtoms it is likely to help you too. If you're intrested I recommend starting with the dosage of 1,500mg 3x in a day. After that you can try to reduce or increase. 500mg capsules that are also sold are not enough to produce any noticeable effect. (You can look into Citrulline or Bettroot powder as other options)

L-Theanine

Found naturally in green tea it's known to reduce anxiety without any known side effects or addiction.

Second Tier (exercise caution)

NMN (NAD Booster) - I used this supplement that is known to increase the enzyme NAD in the body and it helped with everything from energy and anxiety to sinusitis. The unpleasant side effect I got was lower sex drive and gynecomastia which forced me to stop. Other than that it was a miracle. Lowered sex drive, etc are in my research very rare side effects so others in the community might benefit from this greatly.

GABA supplement - This supplement makes it easier to fall asleep, and relaxes tensions and anxiety in the body, I believe it is safe and it can reduce stress seemingly without weakning the HPA axis.

Ginseng - It can help boost the adrenal output and energy, but low doses is recommended as it may affect the HPA axis, for PAI, I guess it doens't matter. Boosts energy.

Since reddit doesn't allow me creating a poll without downloading their app mat just post a simple comment yes / no or whatever your opinion.

Cheers

Feature suggestion: Lock loadout & double tap to exit vehicle moving quickly

When looting death crates with mates it's too easy to accidentally pick up the wrong item and instead picking up a gun replacing your loadout.

* Add a feature like a clickable padlock on top right corner of the loadout slots excluding grenades to lock the current gun in there.

Exiting vehicle by mistake is also easy to happen even with the delay vehicle gameplay setting enabled since it's not very intuitive as it looks similar to when taking a bandage or health kit (the font and text color in middle of the screen).

* Instead make it an option that one has to double tap the selected button (F) in rapid succession to exit a quickly moving vehicle .

Also for grenade throws, how about mouse 1 for long throw and mouse 2 for short throw without having to use mouse2 to switch modes (less confusion about which node is enabled and fewer clicks).

Bonus: Make autorun / automove active also when knocked.

SAI 2y: Anxiety, sex hormone disruption and recovery? I (m35)

It's now over 2 years since I had a close to complete adrenal crash, I could literally only cry and not talk and spent about 5 days in hospital.

Dose regiment and taper

I quit hydrocortisone 1 year ago, my morning cortisol was at best 270nmol/l (my doctor said 350 is required to be sure) when tapering down. However after stopping it lowered and I had big issues with energy and after 3 mths off endocrinologist put me back on.

We have now made a new taper attempt from hc. When I was at 5+2.5 hc daily I was still feeling well, energetic and hopeful. Reducing to 2.5+2.5 I was super tired for 1-2 weeks, then slightly better, there was stress at work (sales) and eventually I felt my body started shutting down almost, nausea, dizziness and wouldn't dare walking 500m. Doc told me to back on 5+2.5 and stay there for now.

Anxiety

For most of the time I've been on hc I've had terrible anxiety which I coped with through various methods or not at all. It's clear that hc at times directly increases it or brings it up. Thanks to a life coach I've started to walk almost daily and learned some tapping, breathing and yoga ndra excercises that does help lower it without drugs but can make me tired and I often end upp feeling non functional.

Do you others have anxiety this bad? I feel it's especially bad after dose adjustments and for a while.

(I often used alcohol to cope with my not so well being but I have realized that it really does increase my anxiety for up to 4-5 days after, because I never was completely off for that long I didn't confirm it was that bad before and I also didn't want to admit it. For now I've been off about 2 mths).

Hormone disruption (male)

My testosterone has always been very high but my estrogen also on highest acceptable level, I used to have sex drive though with those results. 1.5m ago, snew test my T was 105% of max level and my E was whopping 210%, doctor recommended keeping staying off alcohol but I feel like I grown more aggressive man boobs (puffy nipples) since I stopped alcohol. Alcohol used to increase my sex drive a bit, weird as it sounds.

I have read from chatbots that hc can cause raised estrogen in males, and it doesn't seem better for me. Any experiences here?

Recovery

How are experiences with recovery any people that has tried multiple times and eventually it did work? For now I hope to settle and feel okay for a while but ok never means good... With these unbalanced hormone levels and anxiety that makes me not be able to go out and enjoy life for most part it's very hard. All I want is just to feel better.

Chatbot also claimed that according to one study of SAI the recovery rate from patients getting off prednisone slowly resulted in better hpa axis recovery and higher success rate than those that went off hydrocortisone. I wonder if I should propose to try that with my doctor. Currently using hydrocortisone resolution brand though and feeling blessed that I can take it on empty stomach with no gi side effects. All other brands has not worked as good as this one.

Thanks a lot for reading this long post! I'm happy for any replies and happy to share more of my own experiences as well if there's questions.

Caffeine

Do any of you use it or any supplements? Did caffeine worsen your recovery or did you successfully recover while using caffeine etc?

I sometimes have 1 daily cup of coffee but easy to end up in terrible anxiety, I do use Yerba Mate for now that can cause anxiety but not as likely as coffee... I feel I need it to become alert
