What do you guys actually do for fun here?

Hey everyone,

Lately I've been feeling extremely bored and, honestly, quite lonely.

Most of my friends have moved outside for college/jobs/life, so I don't really have anyone here to hang out with anymore. It's kind of weird because I know a lot of people, but when it actually comes to "who can I call right now to go outside?", the answer is basically nobody.

I've reached that point where every day feels pretty much the same. Stay at home, scroll through my phone, watch something, waste time, sleep and repeat. And after doing this for long enough, I'm just getting tired of it.

Sometimes it genuinely feels like there is nothing to do here when you don't already have a friend group.

I'm not specifically looking for dating or anything like that (cuz am done with those shits). I just want to meet some people and make actual friends.

I'm completely open to meeting new people around my age. Could be guys or girls, doesn't really matter. I'm down for pretty much anything — grabbing coffee/food, going for a walk, movies, gaming, sports, exploring random places, photography, travelling somewhere nearby, sitting somewhere and having an adda, or even just meeting up and talking.

I don't expect to immediately become best friends with someone. Even finding one or two people I genuinely click with would be great.

So, people of Durgapur:

What do you guys actually do for fun here?

And if anyone here is also in their early 20s and in the same situation — friends moved away, bored, new to the city, or just looking to expand their social circle — feel free to comment or DM.

I'd genuinely be up for meeting people.

Maybe there are more of us sitting at home thinking "bhai, Durgapur e korar ki ache?" 😂

If there are already any Reddit meetups happening, I'd also be interested in joining. And if there aren't, maybe we can just make one.

Confused - need help

Hi everyone,

This is my first post on Reddit. I'm writing this because I genuinely feel lost right now, and I don't know what to do anymore.

To give some context, I'm currently unemployed. It's not because I lack skills or experience—I previously worked at a large MNC, and I was doing well. The biggest issue was my manager. He was incredibly toxic, and over time I could feel my mental health getting worse. Eventually, I decided to leave because I couldn't keep sacrificing my well-being.

That situation also affected my relationship.

My girlfriend and I were together for 1 year and 2 months, and before dating we had been close friends for almost 3 years. It was a long-distance relationship, and she is genuinely a wonderful person. Unfortunately, I felt like her mother was constantly interfering in our relationship. She kept convincing my girlfriend that if I couldn't give enough time to her now, I would never be able to do it in the future.

The thing is, I did make time. Even during weekdays, I spent around 2–3 hours with her every day, and on weekends it was usually 5–6 hours or even more.

Things became much harder when she started her job at a well-known company. She worked at a male-dominated site, and unfortunately she had to deal with inappropriate comments and even unwanted sleepover invitations. It made her feel unsafe, and she eventually filed a POSH complaint. Just to be clear, I'm not blaming all men—I'm talking about the kind of people who make workplaces unsafe for women.

After that, she understandably needed more emotional support from me. I wanted to be there for her, but I was also struggling with my own job and mental health. She understood my situation, but her mother's constant comments about "priorities" created even more pressure, and eventually our relationship fell apart.

It's been almost two weeks since we broke up.

Now I'm unemployed, heartbroken, and completely unmotivated. I can't even lean on my parents because they're dealing with serious health issues of their own, and I don't want to add to their burden.

I'm only 22 years old, but right now it feels like I've lost everything—my job, my relationship, my confidence, and my sense of direction.

I don't really know why I'm posting this. Maybe I just needed someone to listen. If anyone has been through something similar and managed to rebuild their life, I'd really appreciate hearing your story or any advice you have.
