About 5 months ago, I posted fan designs I made for a supposed live action Touhou western movie adaptation in the early 2000s, in the same vain as movies like Dragon Ball Evolution, Catwoman, Aeon Flux and Avatar the Last Airbender.
I aimed for the typical elements: Barely recognizable characters, muted colors, a dark aesthetic and emphasis on the whole "anti-corporate" vibe that was popular at the time. Oh yeah, and being ashamed of the source material lol. Gone are most Asian elements, since the western audience might not be prepared for that yet.
Since then I've been working on (and at this point in time, finished) a script for such a movie, which I might turn into a comic, if people like the idea enough (the original post which I can no longer find, had about 900 upvotes if memory serves me right). So I felt like it could be a good idea for me to re-share the art (you can also support me on my DeviantArt and my Twitter). Let me know what you think! Would you like to see more? What are some good ways for me to share the script?
I felt like showing several assets from a 90% complete Mortal Kombat Armageddon fan-made board game I was developing on my own, inspired by the game itself and acting as a love letter to the entire MK franchise and the 3D era especially.
I don't feel like showing every asset yet, unless this gets popular, but to put it short, you would essentially compete with other players and the game itself in order to create your own kombatant team, and defeat Blaze, in an battle royale kind of way.
The players are able to use spells, items and trigger events, as well as kill other fighters in the game, in a mix of both skill, and roll-of-the-dice luck.
Even though Ive completed every asset for the game (minus polishing/re working some rules, and wanting to update some assets) I abandoned the project since I got preoccupied with other projects and had to shift my focus elsewhere.
I'd love to hear your input and any questions! Would you like to see this as a fully fledged out project?
EDIT: I apologize for most of these assets being in Greek, at first I started developing the game in my native language but I did plan to make an English translation that never came to be.
