Did MK3 have the ballsiest roster?

  1. No Scorpion

  2. No Bi-Han

  3. Sub-Zero, but Kuai Liang looking radically different than the traditional MK ninjas and a huge departure from his MK2 appearance

  4. No Raiden

  5. No Johnny Cage

  6. No Reptile

  7. No Kitana

  8. No Mileena

  9. No Baraka

I know they "fixed it" with UMK3 shortly after and expanded even more with Trilogy, but this just feels like such a ballsy move.

14 base roster plus Cyber Smoke unlockable for 15.

Out of those 15 only 8 or 9 were known to players (Shang Tsung, Jax, Kano, Liu Kang, Liu Kang, Sonya, Sub-Zero, and Kung Lao were known. Smoke kinda, just not in this form).

7 complete unknowns.

Plus, since Reptile was a secret fight in the original MK and playable in MK2, it would've been reasonable for fans of MK2 to expect Jade and Noob Saibot to be playable in addition to Smoke.

Mortal Kombat 11 is the best selling Game in the series with over 15 Million copies sold.

I remember playing this in 6th grade back in 2019. I was blown away by the graphics and character designs.

31 Days of NRS Fatalities: Day 10 - Peek-A-Boo (MKX)

For some summer fun, I decided to go through my favorite Fatalities from the NRS Mortal Kombat games. To decide who to perform them on, I spun a wheel with all of the playable characters shared across the four main NRS Mortal Kombat games (there were fewer than I was expecting) and got Kitana, my favorite character in the series. Still, sorry to any Kitana fans!

Yesterday's Fatality was Noob Saibot's Make a Wish from MK9

Truth be told, I really only thought this one was kind of funny. The visual of watching the loser's head get shoved down into their chest, getting their chest ripped off, and then their blank stare coming from inside their body did always make me laugh when I saw this Fatality. Not the most brutal or creative, but it holds a special place in my heart purely for some fun nostalgia.

Apologies

On July 4th, I made my first post and art post, in which I thought was normal, about Nightwolf standing at ease in a black backround with a moon that had the style if the U.S.A flag.

The idea of the post was to give light to Native Americans being the true representatives of America and a portrait for a better future for Americans. I'm Trinidadian and it's slightly the same political atmosphere as in the North, so normally I would think, draw or post anything that's positive about mine and other countries.

I can totally understand how it came out very politically blind to some, and I'm not saying they are wrong for thinking bad either. To be fair, it was on my part for not having to more to the synopsis of my post.

All the best to everyone.

Li Mei n Tanya MK

another edit i worked on long ago but just never did anything with it, i still think it should of stayed in my bin. yeah since Li Mei and Tanya didn't have super massive appearances i was like why not do both in one 🤷‍♂️. if you would like another one like this for another character i guess let me know... or not.

Put some respect on my boi’s name. The man took out a legendary swordsman. That’s no small feat.

Something I cooked up (fan poster ideas)

My idea if Mortal Kombat 2021 went a different direction starting solo stories giving the spotlight to the iconic characters of the 92 game starting with Johnny Cage, Liu Kang, Scorpion and Sub-Zero, Kenshi I added because Lewis Tan deserved a spotlight til getting to the tournament merging the first two tournaments in one which they did in the second movie but should be a lot later to complete a saga. Enjoy 😉

If you want to know how I'd do the story just ask and I'll answer questions.

An old animation of Scorpion performing a Razor Ramon taunt

Helped animate this for my brother GohBilly. It was used for a collab we did on a WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game parody.

You picked the right spectre, chico!

Anyone else want MK2's story to finally move beyond Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, Quan Chi, and Shinnok?

I've always felt the next Mortal Kombat game has a great opportunity to shift the focus to a different era of the lore.

I'd love to see Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, Quan Chi, and Shinnok take a back seat. They can absolutely remain playable (even as DLC if needed), but I'd rather they not be the central villains of the story again.

Instead, I'd love the story to fully explore Edenia's royal family and mythology, with characters like Daegon, Delia, and especially Onaga finally getting the spotlight they deserve.

The main heroes could be a new generation of protagonists:

  • Kenshi
  • Taven
  • Shujinko
  • Li Mei
  • Khameleon

Meanwhile, Rain, Tanya, Chameleon, and a few new Edenian characters could serve as the primary supporting antagonists.

The classic pillars of the franchise: Liu Kang, Raiden, Kung Lao, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Kitana, Jade, Sindel, Sonya, Johnny Cage, Jax, and Reptile, would still play major roles, but they wouldn't necessarily have to be the central protagonists this time.

For bosses, I'd love something similar to the structure of the original trilogy

  • Blaze as the sub-boss (like Goro)
  • Daegon as the secondary boss (like Shang Tsung)
  • Onaga as the final boss (like Shao Kahn)
  • Delia, another mystery/twist evil character controlling the story

I think this would finally refresh the series while still respecting its legacy and give a lot of underused characters a chance to become fan favorites.

Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is region-locked in Ukraine, and I'm heartbroken. Looking for advice on how to play it legally.

Hello everyone,

I’m facing a really frustrating situation as a gamer, and I wanted to ask the community for some advice or legal workarounds.

I live in Ukraine, and as some of you might know, Mortal Kombat 11 is completely region-locked here due to some local legal/symbolism issues. You literally cannot buy it in our regional Steam store—the purchase button just isn't there.

The thing is, Mortal Kombat is my absolute favorite gaming franchise. I’ve spent so many hours playing the older titles, watching combo guides, and following the story. I am incredibly excited about the story mode in MK11, and I've always dreamed of playing as the iconic guest characters like the Terminator, Joker, Rambo, and Shao Kahn. It makes me really sad that I can't experience all of this just because of where I live.

I want to clarify that I absolutely do not want to pirate the game—I want to support the developers and play it legally on Steam. However, being a student, I don't have the budget for anything expensive, so switching my entire Steam region or buying from sketchy, overpriced resellers isn't really an option for me.

I know that the Ultimate Edition (which includes all these amazing DLC characters) often goes on big sales for just a few dollars on global retail sites. Does anyone know a safe, legal way for someone in Ukraine to get and activate a Global Steam Key for MK11 Ultimate? Or is there any other workaround that I might have missed?

Thank you so much for your help and advice, and I hope you all have a great day!

One year ago we wrapped filming Mortal Kombat: Shadow Reign.

Around this time last year, we officially wrapped filming Mortal Kombat: Shadow Reign.

In 2024, we released our first film, Mortal Kombat: Operation Cage. After the positive response we got, we knew we had to come back and make something bigger. More characters, bigger fights, and a deeper dive into the MK universe.

When we first announced the cast in June 2025, not everyone was convinced. We got some hate and backlash. Some people had doubts, some people were skeptical. Which is understandable.

Every single person on this cast and crew showed up. We gave 110%. Long shooting days, fight choreography, costumes, locations, problem solving, and doing everything ourselves without a studio behind us.

Looking back at these BTS moments now is pretty surreal because we remember what it took just to get this finished.

I am beyond grateful to everyone who gave it a chance, watched it, shared it, and supported it. The MK community is a big reason we kept pushing.
For anyone who missed it, Shadow Reign is out now.

Yeah, I’m willing to bet my whole soul that Lobo will end up being a guest character in a Mortal Kombat game one day

Just saw Supergirl. I thought it was solid, but it definitely had its problems; seeing Jason Momoa finally get to portray Lobo was not one of them. He was chaotic in all the good ways, and i think the character’s popularity will only continue to rise. He’d fit in a MK game 100%, and in terms of legality, he’d be easy to include for obvious reasons.

31 Days of NRS Fatalities: Day 9 - Make a Wish (MK9)

For some summer fun, I decided to go through my favorite Fatalities from the NRS Mortal Kombat games. To decide who to perform them on, I spun a wheel with all of the playable characters shared across the four main NRS Mortal Kombat games (there were fewer than I was expecting) and got Kitana, my favorite character in the series. Still, sorry to any Kitana fans!

Yesterday's Fatality was Noob Saibot's Evil Chiropracty from MK1

Another Noob Saibot Fatality today, and I always thought this one was an MK9 staple. Getting ripped in half starting at the crotch is gnarly, and I always thought the shot of the loser's face while their body has been completely ripped in half was a good visual. It's also another fun use of a character's powers in a Fatality.

Why did Raiden never tell Scorpion in Mortal Kombat 9 that it was Quan Chi who killed his family?

When you revisit Mortal Kombat 9—the game that revived the most acclaimed franchise and revolutionized console fighting games—you notice certain flaws, or you spot simple solutions that could have prevented massive issues.

That said, the point I want to address today is this: since Raiden claimed to have visions of the past (the original timeline) during *MK9*, why didn't he simply tell Scorpion—after defeating Nightwolf—that it was Quan Chi who murdered the Shirai Ryu and his family?

After all, while he tried to avert the tragedy by promising that sparing Sub-Zero would lead the Elder Gods to resurrect the Shirai Ryu, wouldn't it have been easier to just tell him that the true killer—the one responsible for his own death as well as that of his family and clan—was the very same sorcerer who brought him back to life as a specter from the Netherrealm?

How demanding is MK X really?

Well, I made a post a while ago about how my laptop couldn't run MK XL due to its specs, but after watching a few videos and reading reviews, I think I might be able to play it? Although maybe at 30 fps at most.

However, of course, I'd like to know just how demanding this game really is in terms of optimization.

I meet the RAM and processor requirements, but not the graphics card requirements. Would that cause any problems?

(Intel i5-5300U, 8 GB RAM, and Intel Graphics HD 5500)

I'm sorry if the post sounds dumb.
