Hello all,

First time posting here, just looking for some information. Ive been thinking about getting my best friend a gift pocket watch as a way to ask him to be my best man. I thought it would be cool if he got to wear it during ceremony. Hes always been very into watches and watchmaking so it was the first thing I thought of. However, I dont know much about brands, and I fear asking him would spoil the suprise. Buying anything antique would be ideal but the last thing I want would be to gift him a money pit. Any recommendations for new brands or older makers that hold up well?
