My latest purchase. Great natural nebari, ok ish taper.
It's 15 years old grown from seed, but has always been in a tiny tiny pot so I immediately slip pot into this bigger training container.
Plan is to let it grow untamed for a couple years to thicken the trunk a bit.
Hope you like it!
Got myself this nice thick kaede, ready to build! This winter I'll have to make a decision on the main structure, but that three trunk situation scares me a little.
My first choice would probably be to get rid of the middle one, chop hard the right one (first picture), which is thinner, to use it as a primary dominant first branch.
What would you do?
I'd love to hear other's opinions
Thanks!
Hi everybody,
After pausing the hobby for some time, I restarted in my new house setting up a corner in my backyard.
I only have plants in development.
From left to right:
Trident maple
JM shishigashira being air layered
Spruce
Chinese elm
Chinese juniper + a little nursery juniper I butchered :D
Hope you like it
Grazie mille
Hi everybody, this was my first time planting any tree in the ground. I admit i followed chatgpt instruction for this 😅, but I now found out that maybe it is not correct to plant it over a mound like I did.
Keep in mind that I also dug a decent hole below the level, mixed existing dirt with slightly acidic potting soil and pumice and planted my tree in said mix.
Cultivar is "Beni Maiko".
Is it that bad?
Thank you for your advice
