Is Michael Myers hidden in this shot of the pumpkin?

I always wondered about the pumpkin's nose in the opening sequence of Halloween (1978). Did the carver slip and make a cut beyond what they intended? If so, why keep it? Because pumpkins were hard to find during the film shoot?

Or, hear me out... is that nose supposed to be a butcher knife and the pumpkin's right eye, the mask of Michael Myers?

Huge Evil Dead II fan here. I made a 13-minute Evil Dead II homage/parody called Desperately Seeking Chainsaw. DIY gore, bad decisions, and one very hard-to-find chainsaw. Curious what fellow Evil Dead fans think. Teaser below — full short in the comments.
